I can't stand listening and reading about "muslim invasion" and "modern colonisation of Europe". Thousands of people who flee to Europe are running away from war and violence. They need our help and asylum, same like Europeans did during Second World War. Our responsibility is to help them - give shelter and our support.
Of course we need to remember that among the refugees there may be also terrorists of ISIS. All in all, even ISIS representative claimed that they had smuggled to Europe hundred of fighters who are planning attacks in retaliation for the airstrikes carried out against ISIS. That is why Europeans governments must be very careful deciding who receives asylum and who should be deported.
Despite of the threat of terrorism I believe it is our duty to help victims of war in Syria. Humanitarianism is one of the most important western values, we cannot betray it!
The problem of Syrian Immigrants is very serious and can not be ignored.
In my opinion EU should be ready to help only the most injured and poorest of people. In the current situation EU is housing many thousands young, healthy Syrian men who have a destructive influence on the environment they came to living. I found it outrageous when I heard that Immigrants are complaining that they get too small welfare payments or too small free flats. The worst thing will be that they are going to fetch their families and as a result the immigrant numbers will grow exponentially. However, this is not the end of the consequences of the UE government proceedings. Worser still, Syrian Immigrants will try to introduce Islam without avoiding the use of violence. This is associated with building mosques and introducing laws unfavorable for women.
In conclusion, we could get Syrian Immigrants but we should impose our conditions which are linked with being converted to Christianity, adapting European culture and honest work.
@katarzyna Most of them are not running away. They just want go to europe, to live on social benefits that can give German, UK or France governments. Most of peoples(by statistics from hungary more than 80%) that's cross borders are mens. Where are womans and childrens? I think these mens leave families becouse they culture permits to do it. btw. Most of them know where to go because of smartphones that they have. It might be tempted to tell if they may purchase iphone, they can have quite good living there. Much better than leaving in Poland. My opinion about imigrants is to help them but do this just like Australia or Saudi Arabia do, give money to peoples that they really needed. Moreover few weeks ago Prime minister of Israel tell that they sercet services cant tell who is in ISIS and who is not. This is one or reasons that Israel cant help with this problem and they dont accept imigrants. Why Poland should accept these peoples? They can be serious problem in our country. I think We have some other, more impotant problems to fix at first place.
In my opinion, the fear of unknown is what brings true terror. We don’t know for sure what will happen and what to expect from immigrants. The only thing people in Poland do right now is create in their head a dark vision of how will the future look. There are so many informations and opinions on the Internet about this topic, that we don't know which one of them is true and that's why people are so afraid of.
This is like almost everything. Every person have opinion about subject and now with internet and social media we can read and show this opinions to peoples. This is very good and we should use it. We should talk about this and have benefits from this new kind of way of getting informations. This slowly becomes normal. We can choose source of informations, we can validate more important informations. I think this is very good.
You don't understand me. I know I can't make myself clear; It's not about people's opinions and freedom of speech on the internet. It's all about fake articles that are only trying to convince us that all immigrants are really bad and dangerous people.
I think I know what you mean. Im not happy about this too. There are plenty of sources and some are fake in purpuse. This can be overwhelming at first shot but this can be treated as informations noice. for example if you read aszdziennik.pl, at first place all articles are have nice looking form and you can read them as serioru blog post but after read content all is very funny. Some informations about imigrans are writed by peoples and agencies funded by political groups are should thread them just like noice or just filter them by your own perspective.
First of all I must to say that I didn’t like the presentation, because I do not think that the author put much work into it – some facts, which can be found on every news site with 2 graphics (one of which was even presented in the video) is not enough in my opinion. If you compare to other from recent years – it’s very poor effort.
And as for immigrants – I think we CAN help them, but only by helping them rebuild their country. Most of those people don’t want to go back to their country after the war, they demand help, so they are not war immigrants, but economical immigrants. Nowadays we have decent problem with Romani people – we provided them with homes, offered them jobs, but they doesn’t want to work and they’re fine living on social support. And if we provide Syrian’s with the same help – do you really think, that they will assimilate to our conditions? Different culture, different tradition, even different religion. Funny that they do not want to go to countries with similar culture, they even didn’t want to stay in Hungary – they goal is to get to Germany, where they will get the best social conditions. Let’s send them help – food, medical care, help them rebuild their homes, or event send UE troops to make peace there, but helping them by letting them in… It’s not a good solution in my opinion.
And South Park already did an episode on that matter: http://southpark.cc.com/clips/xd7mvg/go-back-where-you-came-from
I totaly agree with this commet. We should help them but not in way of accepting them in our country. First of all is question about how Poland can guarantees that imigrants that will come here will stay in our country for long time? I think they will try to go Germany. Secount thing is about language. Do we have enough teachers to teach them polish? How they will survive in our country if they not know english and polish at start? Polish is not easy language to learn and learn this will take at least half of year. How do our country will help 10k of imigrants from syria?
In my opinion, if imigrants from the Middle East want to come to our country, they should accept our conditions. They should get benefits package for three months in the amount of 1000 zlotych. After three months they should start a work and take care of themselves. Secondly, we should welcome they with the Old-Polish tradition - that is Vodka and lard. If Syrian Immigrants are going to drink and eat that meal they can stay in our country otherwise they should come back.
Syrian immigrants are a problem, that is true. However, I think that there is no point in denying them the right to enter any country they want. Instead, we should make sure that they would assimilate with the people they have chosen to live with and that's it. Honestly, ff there were airstrikes all over my country I would migrate as well.
There is a huge problem with immigrants, and I can't imagine why so many people marginalize this. Of course, we should help other people, but we have to do it wisely. For me Angela’s Merkel declaration, that Germany will take every amount of immigrants is irresponsible. Because of this, we have scission in EU. Not every country are prepared to deal with German solution. And, why EU has border since there are people to which border checking does not apply? They could be everyone (refugee, economical immigrant, or even ISIS terrorist -we don't know it). That's why people are afraid of them… Now we have a problem what to do with these people? For me, the worst thing is to put them in "ghettos" (as it is happening right now), because it furthers to pathology. Those people will not assimilate, and it could cause another problems in future. For me, the only solution is to put them in families which will declare that they want to help them - this could help those people to feel like in home.
One of the biggest problem nowadays is growing immigration from Syria and I think every citizen of UE should know about this problem and it’s consequences.
First of all, I want to try to understand why all this people are running away from Syria. After four years of civil war in Syria people are exhausted and they just want to find a safer place. I think that they lost hope of fixing the situation in Syria and they don’t know when there will be peace. I can accept this, and if in my country civil war will last so long without any chances of peace, many people would do the same.
I don’t like to watch TV because what we see in media is not true and we can be easily manipulated. If I turn on TV and try to watch about problem of immigrants reporters from main TV stations show only shots with crying children, poor crying women. This pictures are made only to manipulate our emotions. But in fact 90% of immigrants are young and healthy men. They are aggressive in relation to other people and the main problem is that they don’t accept other culture and religion.
On the internet you can find a film made by one of the main’s TV stations in which reporter is saying about immigrants which came to the shore of Lesbos Island. He is saying that we can see old and sick people and children who need help. But in fact we see healthy men, which are holding expensive phones and are happy that came here to live from social allowance. This men are wealthier residents of Syria, they had money to pay someone to transport them here to Europe. In fact, poor and sick people are still staying there in Syria without any help. Think about why this film is constantly removing from YouTube by this main TV station…
The main problem of immigrants is that they want to live from social allowance. Poland is country that don’t have so much money like Germany. It is unfair that immigrants will use money that Poland’s government can use to help poor people in our country.
Immigrants form Syria are aggressive and don’t accept our culture and religion. I want to tell you about one example that I read in Internet with the following header: “SWEDEN: Under pressure from Muslim crosses were removed from the church”. Sweden is main direction picking by emigrants arriving to Europe from East, because of high social allowance. Eva Brunee, Lutheran bishop of Stockholm, suggested to remove all crosses from main Swedish churches, because she says crosses are offending Muslim immigrants who arrive to Sweden.
I think that problem of Syrian immigrants is very serious, we should stop taking people, who want to live on our expense. A better decision would be to help solve the problems of Syrian refugees in their own country.
The thing that annoys me the most is that during the check-in we need to split every liquid into 100ml containers, because it might be dangerous somehow and yet we're about to let thousands of unidentified people inside out country.
I think it's a little unfair that we're about to help lots of people from outside before making out own lives a bit more comfortable. Immigrants' beliefs differ a lot from ours and I don't like that instead of being grateful that foreign countries want to give them shelter they just want more and more, they flee further west because they'll be given more money there.
We're all human and we'd all like to live decent lives in good conditions but we need to provide for the countires we live in, not act like some exploiters, always demanding, giving nothing back.
Poles have been immigrants in many countries over the last decades or even centuries. Such immigration (or emigration depending on the viewpoint) was caused by many factors: political, economical - you name it.
Firstly - the reaction of "patriots" in Poland is horrifying. It reminds me of nothing more but the Germany of the 30s (and - many forget anti-Semitism wasn't only a problem in that country - Poland also had a strong tradition in it unfortunately). Any arguments that might be considered reasonable loose credibility for me because of the - I am not afraid to call it - neo-nazi rallies and demonstrations and the strong public opinion of the same kind. This is unacceptable.
Secondly - the numbers of immigrants (even in the highest number scenario) declared to be accepted by Poland is still not high, and it is ridiculous and pathetic, how frightened the society became of these very low and literally unnoticeable numbers of new inhabitants, not to mention, that they would be accepted to Poland within the next years.
At last but not least - we seem to be forgetting about the fact that Poland had a big impact on what the situation has become in the middle east over the years, thanks to the pro-american and pro-war politics of the last few governments. I don't know how many of us keep naively believing, that the war on ("of") terror really represented what it declared to represent. It was and still is a clearly political situation. Americans, as well as other countries keep stirring in the Middle (also Near) Eastern pot for their own benefit, keeping the region destabilized.
To sum it up - Syrians (who are outcasts of war) and other members of Eastern societies seek normalization in Europe, they are chasing a dream of normal life. No one says they will live of our social benefits (as many Poles around the world do) and will create ghettos in our countries (as many Poles around the world do).
We should look at the big picture. Also - without the xenophobic perspective we have as a society right now.
Many say that they would be alright with immigrants, but these immigrants are of a different culture, and they claim to be afraid of this strange culture. You know what "fear of the strange" translates to in old greek? Xenophobia.
That's a hard topic and also very actual one. Generally I agree with Robert and Jakub point of view. I understand citizen's doubts and fears. For me it's completely natural that Europeans want to live in a safe, strong and consistent country. Sirian Immigrants need an European help, that is obvious. European Union have a tough nut to crack -we should offer an optimum kind of help for Siria and Middle East.
