  1. In my opinion, consciousness is a very private thing and I wouldn’t like to expose is anywhere. I think that it’s also very unique.
As I’ve mentioned in the previous paragraph, for me this is a very private and unique thing. That’s why I think that copying consciousness isn’t an ethical thing. As for now, I perceive it as something weird and reserved for the future. I think that it might be possible in the future but I’m a little bit scared about that.

  2. I think transferring consciousness could be possible in the future and this thought is very exciting for me. However, it is difficult to imagine how this process would be realized. How we could actually map our 'souls' to the machine? And if it was be possible, could the machine it self develop consciousnesses? I think it would be incredibly helpful for people who are limited by their bodies. Personally I would upload my mind to a machine if there was a serious cause, like for example full body paralyze. But I wouldn't rather do that out of fear of death. The other question that comes to my mind is how human consciousness would behave without the biological body? Would it accommodate easily or would it cause some issues? And if we were immortal as machines, wouldn't it affect our motivation?

  3. I have no idea what I would do in this situation. On the one hand, it seems tempting, and on the other, as you mentioned, the prospect of eternal torture seems to be terrifying if something goes wrong. It's hard to talk about an ethical aspect without really knowing what consciousness is. Even scientists cannot answer this question. I think that to assess the moral aspect of uploading a brain, you first need to thoroughly understand the essence of consciousness. I think it will become possible over time, but this is unlikely to happen soon.

  4. I think that trying to copy consciousness to extend human’s life would be mistake. Currently, the world is struggling with overpopulation and the planet suffers from it day by day more intensively, so extending people's lives for another decades would certainly be an additional burden. Also placing people's consciousness to body substitutes (e.g. robots) could cause human life would be treated objectively and without respect. I hope that despite the accelerated technological progress for many years, the transfer of consciousness to a computer will be impossible and will remain at the research stage and I hope more people will look for ways to keep Earth in its best condition rather than seeking immortality. Therefore, I would not agree to transfer my consciousness, although I am very curious how the world will look in 100 or 300 years.

  5. I wouldn't agree to transfer my consciousness, beause in my opinion it's highly unethical. Every human beeing is unique and by copying consciousness there would be a risk of manipulating it by others. Moving awarness would be as unnormal as moving for example soul.

I think that transferring consciousness to a computer will be possible, but not soon. At this moment our technology, even it is developing very fast, does not allow us to do this kinds of experiments.

  6. For me it sounds like a science-fiction movie… :) But it’s fantastic! I would allow to transfer my consciousness to computer. Is it ethical? Hard to tell cause it’s too abstract for me. I don’t mind - I'm in.
I think that transferring consciousness to a computer would be possible if human survive another 150 years.

  7. I wouldn't agree to transfer my consciousness to any object because I like the life I live.
I agree that copying human consciousness is unethical and immoral. We have been created to have one life with an end. Everybody will die one day. This is our destiny. Doesn't matter if we believe in God or not, we shouldn't have that big impact on a human's life.
I think scientists will try to transfer consciousness to a computer but they should be aware of the danger this may cause, as machines controlling people's lives.

  8. I've never thought about it but I think I wouldn't mind. The more me the better ;)
I think it's neither unethical nor unmoral and don't really know why it's considered so. It's your mind, you don't harm anyone (including yourself) so why should we think it's bad? Also, I like how consciousness transfer was used as a transport mean in Altered Carbon.
I think it could be possible but I don't think it's going to happen in next decades. We still know only fraction about human brain and we still lack technology to store so much amount of data. What's more, most of the technology we use today is digital and I believe our brain is analog "device" so I'm not even sure we are heading in the right direction.

  9. First of all I think that is song of the future, so I didn’t though about it before. I wouldn’t agree to transfer my consciousness, because I think that is strictly connected to my soul. In religion point of view I will be prisoned here at Earth if my mind will be here after my death. In terms of rapidly technical possibilities growth it may be possible to transfer our consciousness to computer, but not in 50 years.

  10. I think that transfering consciousness might be much harder decision than it's look like. It's choosing to live on leaving everything that you care about behind you. I would love to try this but I'm not sure if I'll be able to go through such thing without psychical disturbs.
I think that the biggest issue is the "device" where consciousness would be moved to. It may cause a lot of unethical behaviours and it's very hard to predict what would people would come up with.
I think that transferring is not even that far future as we might think it is. It might be possible in this century

  11. Yes, I would agree to transfer my consciousness to an artificial substitute. I think it is a great opportunity to make all of my dreams come true, to see every single part of the world and gain various, extraordinary experiences. The idea that time does not concern me is amazing and it puts me in a place full of possibilities. Observing the continuous development of technology I think that transferring consciousness to a computer will be possible in the future.

  12. I probably would not agree. I believe that this is against human nature. Although who knows, maybe in the future I will change my mind. This is a very complex topic and it's hard to put everything into a short opinion. It seems to be not very ethical considering human nature and the world around us. In the end, it would be the choice of each individual person. I have heard of the company Neuralink, which is trying to create something like an API to our brain. Looking at the already available, for example, hand prostheses that can be controlled by the owner, it seems that it is only a matter of time.

  13. Transferring consciousness would definitely be a hard decision to make, who wouldn't like to live forever. right? I don't think it is going to be possible and if it will be, it is not going to be very soon.
I would agree to it if I could be in my own world there, without knowing anything that is going on in the world, just think about knowing that people you love die and can't do it because let's be honest it's not going to be free.
But to be realistic just think about how our brain is connected to our whole body, which makes us who we are and if our mind would be transferred to a computer or some kind of device, aren't we becoming soulless robots?
I remember that there was a Black Mirror episode connected to that subject - if someone is interested I would 100% recommend to watch it. :)

  14. I think that it’s hard to predict how that idea can be realised in future. But I can only assume that it will be possible someday. And it might be the biggest mistake of humanity.
If we will have that opportunity tomorrow depends on modern style, trends and humanity values, it might be look like as follows: People might have a choice to buy a subscription for one month or a year, for additional pay we might could block advertising and buy additional antivirus software.
But there are many disadvantages in this situation like bugs or hackers that can destroy or hack whole your life, you will never feel safety.
We all can only imagine how it can be, but as for me, in my imagination none of this fictions look like something good for all of us.

  15. I wouldn’t agree to transfer my consciousness into virtual reality. On one hand the possibility of becoming immortal and staying young forever is very tempting. But the main reason why our live is unique and special, is the fact that it only lasts for a limited period and we can never know when it will end. The theme of immortality is very popular in literature and movies. Of course, at the beginning everything would be wonderful, but over time it would be harder and harder for people to feel happiness and curiosity. It wouldn’t be a society in which I would like to spend eternity.

  16. 1. This is beyond my conviencement, that you switch my existence to someone else's. Maybe just the memory, but still then how would they be able to recreate all the emotions and events within themselves. It all seems quite unintuitive and distant to me.
It is definetely a vision of the future, which might not become reality, we should be hesitant to modify ourselves. It very possible, that the human race might become extinct, as a result of too much intrusion into their own bodies.

    2. I can imagine, that in the future people might transfer their consciousness into artifical bodies, in order to extend their lives, or to prolong them.We want to sustain ourselves, which is prefectly understandable. I can envision, that people will
for example take the most valuable genes within a population and then inject them into their offspring. So called superhumans will be artifical breed, it appears as scary vision, as soom leaders will be tempted to create powerful armies or large corporation
will try to populate their organisation with exceptionally smart employees.

    3. I think, it might be scary idea, as all of our memories, knowledge would be exposed to being revealed to openness, so this way our privacy
could be stolen or subject to blackmail,extortion.etc. I can image the usage as in the movie "The Matrix" were certain skill could be added
to other people's sets of abilities at occasions. This might make learning easier and more efficient.

  17. Apart from the subject, my first thought was about the netflix series "altered carbon" :p
That depends, if I would be young and seriosuly sick i would definietly agree to that. In the other hand when i would be old and already had wonderful life i dont think it would be so important for me to live next life.
Hmm, when You will consider artifical body like
hand prosthesis it sounds good, but uploading my consciousness to the internet or making copies ? It's not ethical at all. One consciousness should be unique thru whole world. Moving it from original body to artifical one is one thing, but copying and propaging is other one.
I think it will be posiible in 5-10 years.

  18. I must say that this topic is very interesting, but also very hard to discuss. I don't think that I would like to transfer my consciousness anywhere and I think I would feel a bit terrified if it will be possible to do that. Probably, I would start to think if the reality I live in that moment is real or maybe someone moved my consciousness elsewhere and nothing is real. I think that ethical and moral aspect of this idea is questionable, but if someone wants to do that, why not? I think that moving consciousness will be possible in the future. Our brain is just another computer which we just need to know.

  19. 1. No I wouldn't agree because I am very curious what nature will do with my
consciousness after death. At the same time, the vision of eternal life really scares me.

    2. I think it's unethical as long as the copied consciousness depends on its creator - being
independent is a fundamental human right - even only copied mind without a body
should have basic rights. Despite good intensions digitization of the consciousness may
lead to abuse and serious mistakes.

    3. In my opinion, digitization of the mind is impossible, because the state of the
    body also affects our personality.

  20. I don't know if I would agree to pass on my consciousness. Some of them, I think, are worth keeping and passing on, but some are embarrassing and I'd rather leave them alone.
It seems to me that, like any ethical and moral problem, it is difficult. This raises many opportunities, but also many threats.
The first thing that comes to mind is purpose. Some people probably would like something for home use, but what about those who want to do harm with such a tool?
What if, after the transfer of consciousness, it turns out that the consciousness owner has done harm? Should it be punished? How it should be punished - turn it off, erase it?
It's hard to say. On the one hand, knowing the current possibilities, I would say no. But on the other - who would have predicted 200 years ago that the heart would be operated without opening the chest through the vein?
