Week 2 [26.10-02.11.2015] HYPERLOOP

Have you ever imagined an overland journey from town to town with the speed of over 1000 km/h?

It sounds crazy, when you think about it, but it can happen soon! All of this thanks to an eccentric billionaire and a visionary Elon Musk.

The owner of Tesla Motors and SpaceX, one of the most influential people in the twenty-first century reveals plans to create the  Hyperloop system,  the fifth means of transport, that will allow the transport of passengers at the speed of over 1200 km/h.

The system will use small gondolas with solar panels  traveling inside. These gondolas will move on "cushions" created by the air blown out of them. Vehicles are expected to run every 2 minutes and allow the transport of passengers and even vehicles.

The Hyperloop is different from similar projects as it requires no digging of long tunnels or vacuum. It seems that everything can be made using the  existing technology.

A few months ago JumpStartFund , a crowd-powered online incubator, created Hyperloop Transportation Technology  Inc.,  which brought together engineers willing to spend their free time working on design in exchange for stock options.

HTT plans to start the construction of a test section on a full-scale, ready to transport passengers in 2016. They also announced that the project has 400 “team members”. They aren’t employees, but women and men working for, e.g.  NASA, Boeing, and SpaceX, who spend their time working
on the Hyperloop in exchange for stock options. They’ve also got several potential investors.

We can only look forward to using it.

Send me your presentation at least 5 days before the date of its publication.

 Konwersatorium internetowe polega na przygotowaniu:

1.  raz w semestrze 1 prezentacji.

Prezentacja składa się z tekstu, filmów, zdjęć (pamiętamy o prawach autorskich).  Moderujemy ją. To robimy przez tydzień. Proszę o przesłanie prezentacji na mój email co najmniej 5 dni przed jej publikacją.

Uwaga! Proszę pamiętać, że ma być to temat interesujący dla grupy. Na koniec semestru będziemy głosować na najlepszą prezentację (osoba ta dostanie wyższą ocenę).

2. W pozostałe tygodnie zapoznajemy się z materiałami zaprezentowanymi przez kolegów i koleżanki lub przeze mnie (filmy, programy, prezentacje, interesujące artykuły) i komentujemy je oraz komentarze kolegów/koleżanek. Jeśli temat na przypisanym blogu nam nie odpowiada lub nie ma na nim prezentacji, wtedy pracujemy na innym (możliwość pracy we wszystkich grupach, które prowadzę).

Oceny za aktywność wystawiam w każdym tygodniu pracy, odrębna ocena jest za prezentacje, każda dodatkowa aktywność, np. link do interesującego artykułu, filmiku na YouTube jest mile widziana i punktowana.

Należy pracować systematycznie, lecz jeśli ktoś zapomni o pracy na blogu np. przez tydzień lub nie ma czasu, może być w dwójnasób aktywny w następnym tygodniu. Można uzyskać nawet 2 oceny za pracę tygodniową.

W każdym tygodniu pracy na blogu przypominam o deadlines.
