Nowadays the media are showing us
more and more images of body. In magazines or fashion blogs we could read how our appearance changes our life. It should be stressed that
usually such articles are illustrated with photographs of slim, even skinny
models. For example, in recent years
there has been a new trend a hole between women’s thighs. I'm afraid that
the media make us brainwashed. In consequence, a number of diseases such as
depression and eating disorders have increased.
A radical and restrictive diet can
not only reflect badly on our body but on our psyche. Underfed body begins to
go crazy with it, us. Body malnutrition is the cause of eating disorders. These
include compulsive overeating, bulimia and anorexia.
source:http://www.humanillnesses.com/original/images/hdc_0001_0002_0_img0094.jpg
Compulsive overeating can be
described as uncontrollable fits of gluttony. A person eats a large amount of
food very quickly to improve his or her mood.
But after this attack of hunger, a person feels remorse, guilt. People
who have a problem with compulsive eating are usually people who are overweight
or suffering from obesity.
Bulimia is characterized by strong gluttony. A person
in the course of the attack is able to accept up to 10,000 calories. But when a
person returns to reality, he/she feel guilty. The consequence of it is vomiting, exercising and the use of
laxatives.
Anorexia is long-term destruction
and starvation of the body. In my opinion it
is the hardest and most difficult eating disorder. The first visible
symptom is large weight loss in a short period of time, increase of aggression
in such a person caused by hunger. Cause of its dependence on not eating, such
a person is getting more and more
isolated from the society. Long-term anorexia results in tooth decay, hair
loss, impaired vision, impaired bone problems - bradycardia. Each lost kilogram becomes a reason for
satisfaction.
Methods for dealing with anorexia
include psychotherapy and treatment with antidepressants. The most
popular therapy for the treatment is a cognitive behavioral
therapy. During its course the therapist tries to find the problems that
caused the disease. This is usually an event from the patient's childhood,
which they do not remember, because they wanted to soothe the pain. Therefore
they escape into food and it becomes their meaning of life and the main thing
to worry about. In the treatment of patients with eating disorders, the support
of people close to them and their understanding are very invaluable. With
family and friends a sick has chance to regain inner sense of security. Family
and friends of people with eating disorders need to remember not to treat this
disease as trivial. Only through the support and understanding they can help
them, with this serious disease.
So let us consider: is it
worthwhile to lose weight to the degree that threatens our lives? I
don’t think so. Our size will not change our lives, but our approach to it
will. Eating alone doesn’t make us happy. Only our positive attitude
and approach to life can make us happy. taking care of health and
shedding a few kilos is something entirely different from a strict fast
devastating the body. Therefore, in
state of trying to lose weight, just take care of your health and mental state. In
particular, accept yourself .

ReplyDeleteIt's very difficult subject and a lot of people have big problem with this. It is a debilitating disease organism, after witch come back to normal life it's very difficult things.
2. Which beauty canon do you find the most attractive ?
For me the most attractive beauty canon is thin people not skinny. I don't like anorectic build of body and sometimes this people wake digust and compassion. Obsession on everything subject is sick.
3. Have you ever had critically thoughts about your body?
Of course. Today i would like shake off a few kilos and i think that everyone find in every body thing witch would like have better.
4. What do you think about on basis of someone’s appearance?
I don't think anything. No matter how someone looks, important what have in his mind and heart.
I'm agree with your opinion. Nowdays, big fashion brand create own beauty canon of body. Which is unhelthy and can destroy organism and life. Eating disorders are difficult diseases, but curable.
DeleteIt is good, that your beauty canon is thin peopole not skiny. If I good understand you prefer athlethic type of body.
It is true, that everyone find every body thing which would like has better. I know a lot of beautiful girls, which work as model and photomodel. Even they would like to change, something in their appearance.
Your totally right, that now matter how we look, important is how we are. Helen Keller said that "The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart." I'm agree with her.
1. As Adam said it is difficult subject. Many people have big problem with this but I have never studied it to much so it's hard to say something.
ReplyDelete2. Nomal;)Inflection in any direction is not good. I don't like anoretic build and I can't uderstand why women want to look like this.
3. Yes. Always can be better;) But I do not do this the main problem in my life.
4. I don't think anything. I can say if the someone's apperance is more or less attractive for me but I can't judge people. Someone can be very attractive but I do not want to have anything to do with such a person if there is nothing beyond this.
Yes it is difficult subject, but it is important to educate people, about risks and consequences posed by easting disorders.
DeleteWomen want to achive, perfection in thier apperances. I am women, and I always have a problem with my body. I think, that I can look better( but now I'm too lazy to change anything in my body).
I agree with, it is more imoprtant kind of man you are, not how you look. However, we life the Internet age. We read less, than before, so we forget the ideals attitude of books charachters. Therefore, in my opinon we judge by apperance.
1. What do you think about eating disorders?
ReplyDeleteI think that they are extremely destructive. I have friend which overcome anorexia, it was very long and very thought process
2. Which beauty canon do you find the most attractive ?
I think normal. Without exaggeration in any direction.
3. Have you ever had critically thoughts about your body?
Yes, probably like most people. I think that we can always improve ourselves in some way.

DeleteI overcome anoerxia too. I agree, taht was long and hard to breakthrough disease.
DeleteExaggration in everything is nothing good.
In long term, especially when we are in realtionshionship or we are a family, persenolaity is more important, than apperance. Look passes, a good heart and empathy, not die by theirself, as long as we do not allow for it.
1. What do you think about eating disorders?
ReplyDeleteIt's a hard question...
I think it's a disease and we don't need to say what we think about it, it's like question what do you think about cancer?
2. Which beauty canon do you find the most attractive ?
Healthy one, when you eat good and do some sports, you can't change how you look totaly, you can work on parts of your body and improve it, but you will stay the same as a person, so I think the best answer is to be happy with yourself and not trying to choose a beauty canon.
Like in plastic surgery, a lot of people decide to do this not because they don't like part of their body but they don't accept their looks in general and don't feel comfortable in their own body...
3. Have you ever had critically thoughts about your body?
I think everybody have that thoughts sometimes, as I said you have to accept your body and than you can do some exercise and sports to make it look better.
4. What do you think about on basis of someone’s appearance?
We look at someone's appearance as a first impression, when we don't know this person, later the character is more important.

DeleteI'm tottaly disagree. Cancer is kind of disease,on which we have no influence. We can try to cure disease. Cancer is somatic disease. Changing our thinking can help to fight with adversity. However, there is 100% chance it will help.
DeleteIn contrast to eating disorders. It is psychosomatic disease. An important part of the treatment is therapy and a change of mind ailing.
Thefore, in my opinion we should talk about eating disorders to know better, as helping others or yourself, before it will be too late
I agree with you, that will be the best, when we accept yourself. Of course it is true, when we change our bodies, when do sports. However, many tabloids have a lead "How to lose 2 kilos in 1 day", but they don't iform us, that we only lose water in organism, not fat. If we really want to change something in our apperence, this definietly need more time. I wirte about it, because you raised the issue of "plastic sugery". In my opinion pepole decide to this operation, casue they think, that their lifes will be better. However anything change until they change their thinking.
It is true, that somebody's apperance as first impression. On the other hand we live in at a time when the importance of appearance is enhanced by media. When I look at my acquaintances, I usually hear, when they only focus on one's appearance or how to change to change the behavior of their partners. What I think is very shallow.

DeleteActually we have control on diseases, even cancer, there are a lot of influence in environment that we can avoid. We can reduce the risk of geting cancer or many other diseases just by healthy eating...There are a lot of diseases that people have from negligence, if someone have lungs cancer, after 20 years of smoking cigarettes, he also had no influence on this situation?
DeleteBut eating disorders are like mental illness, work of our brain it's harder to control and describe, I think it's more complex problem and we don't have to make it so average.
How about someone who has schizophrenia? he's not ill because everything is in his head?
However, there is only lung cancer. Cervical cancer, breast cancer, or even colorectal cancer- these diseases do not result from an incorrect perception of reality.
DeleteOf course, you have right, lung cancer is the result of smoking.
The fact that, eating disorders are mental illnes, this is the reason, why it is easier to overcome.
Metastasis is not the fault of man, a distorted self-image, it is something, what we can break through. We should talk about this problem, because media make us brainwashing about skinny canon of beauty, and more promoting food in ad's.
As I said, eating disorders are psychosomatic diseases. Schizophrenia is endogenous psychosis. This two completely different psychoses.
1. What do you think about eating disorders?
ReplyDeleteNowadays it is a big problem, especially among young people. I think that this problem is related to low self-esteem among teenagers. Image of thinness that is promoted by the media has become fashionable, but also very dangerous. And young people are the most susceptible to the copying a beauty canons presented in the media.
2. Which beauty canon do you find the most attractive ?
Normal. Not too thick, not too thin.
3. Have you ever had critically thoughts about your body?
Of course. The woman will always find in their bodies some defects. We compare ourselves to other women and we always find something that we think is prettier in another woman.
4. What do you think about on basis of someone’s appearance?
Unfortunately, people often judge others by the appearance. This has an impact on our approach to others, often we treat people unfairly, for example we always give a second chance to attractive person, we trust her and we also assign her a positive qualities.
I'm totally agree with your opinion about eating disorders. Teenagers do not have savvy reviews and system of values. Media can make with them everything they want- young people are vulnerable as plasticine.
DeleteI think that, woman are racing each other- each of them wants to be the most beautiful.
In my opinion, we judge by apperance, beacause this ideal of which is highlighted in the media all the time- we not emphasize the ideals associated with the attitudes of behavior.
1. Nowadays eating disorders biggest problem. People do not have patience and want to lose weight fast results . Instead of entering a rational nutrition and discard junk food . Girls fall in bulimia or anorexia , because they want to look like models of covers fashion headlines. They do not realize that these models are corrected in computer programs.
ReplyDelete2. I am a typical gym freak , I love athletic body. In my opinion perfect woman has a slightly scratched muscles throughout the body .
3. Of course it is, I think every woman has a problem with that . My problem has always been big thighs and calves , because I rode the bike a lot . My way to my complex was subscribing to the gym and the alignment of the body proportions by weight lifting . Strength training gives surprising results , I recommend it to all women .
4. What do you think about on the basis of someone's appearance ? Appearance not tell that who is a man of character. But the appearance can immediately determine what lifestyle he leads . If it is thick , puffy and lethargic - he does not care about his health . If it is slim and looks radiant - a healthy nourish and care for it.
You said, a important thig- photos are retouched, many many stylists and trainers working on models to the stars look to beautiful.
DeleteOf course do sports are a better way to achive a beauty body however a lot of peopole are too lazy, to do anything. The prefer eat less, to change body, what in the consequences, contribute to malnutrition in a suitable way the body.
1. What do you think about eating disorders?
ReplyDeleteAs many said above it is a big problem nowadays. People do not care about what they eat or if they live a healthy lifestyle until its its too late.
2. Which beauty canon do you find the most attractive ?
I think the best would be just natural looking. Not too skinny not to fat. Just normal as in You wouldn't even think about it when You looked at someone ;)
3. Have you ever had critically thoughts about your body?
I think everyone had and wanted to change something about themselves.
4. What do you think about on basis of someone’s appearance?
Whatever anyone says outside appearance is the first thing You see and establishes what you think about a person. With time You oppinion can change but the first impression is always the strongest. I think everyone should look neat and as if they take care of themselves.
It is true, we often change something when is too late.. I think we live too fast, we always hurry up to work, to school, everywhere..
DeleteWe want look the best, beacause we search acceptance of environment. Therefore we judge people the same measure.
Nice Informative Blog having nice sharing.. phen375 uk
ReplyDelete1. What do you think about eating disorders?
ReplyDeleteEvery disorder is bad. We should eat five times a day in little portions. This ensures a healthy appearance and a good mood.
2. Which beauty canon do you find the most attractive ?
I think the most attractive beauty canon for me would be a person who is slim but not too thin. However, the most important and sexy is cheerfulness and a big smile.
3. Have you ever had critically thoughts about your body?
I think that every woman is a little dissatisfied with some part of her body. It is important that in pursuit of the ideal look we don't forget about our health and good nutrition.
4. What do you think about on basis of someone’s appearance?
I don't grade people based on their apperance. For me the most important is someone's behaviour and character. These factors decide whether I make contact with someone or not.
Nowdays we forget about eating healthy, beacuse we live to fast. This is the reason, why we choose semi-finished food.
DeleteMarylin Monore said that "A smile is the best makeup a girl could wear" I agree with her opinon.
In my opinion - striving for perfection is the pursuit of abstraction.
We judge people, beacause we are juding by them. Many tv show are the cause of our excessive focus on appearance. Your attiutde to life is glorious. However, not everyone appreciates empathy and closeness of loved ones
1. What do you think about eating disorders?
ReplyDeleteEating disorder is illness. Every illness should be cured. Nowadays obesity is really big problem in developed countries, we should rise awareness about what obesity can do to your health.
2. Which beauty canon do you find the most attractive ?
As many others said before: "normal" not too thick, not to slim.
3. Have you ever had critically thoughts about your body?
Not really (besides my ginger beard), but I'm criticall for myself.
4. What do you think about on basis of someone’s appearance?
Don't judge book by its cover. That is what I think. Let's say girl is beautiful but dumbs as hell. I can't talk with her about anything so whats the point of meeting her?
You are right. Although now we more know about what we eat. Now we read labels on products, and calorie content. However, the problem is to change the way of life during the last century. We should eat less- we often frive by car and forget about physical activity.
DeleteSometimes men looking for dumb gris, which will be only their adornment, They do not care that woman will be their partner and friend.
1. What do you think about eating disorders?
ReplyDeleteI think this is illness like any other. Maybe a little unnoticed but its still a sickness.
2. Which beauty canon do you find the most attractive ?
Def healthy eating one
3. Have you ever had critically thoughts about your body?
Yeah, who hasnt :D But instead of complaining I try to do something about them
4. What do you think about on basis of someone’s appearance?
Its easy to say not to judge book by its cover but what can you say about someone when you didnt even had a chance to talk to them yeet.
Sombody's apperance is a first imppresion, but is people often do not notice any difference between blaming someone and evaluating.
DeleteI think that people are not ashamed of eating disorders because they are afraid to talk about them. Eating disorders as a disease, are a form of escape, and the lack of acceptance from everyday problems.
1. What do you think about eating disorders?
ReplyDeleteI think that they are very hard to cure, but i wish the best of luck to anyone who is fighting it right now.
2. Which beauty canon do you find the most attractive ?
The one that is my opposite ;)
3. Have you ever had critically thoughts about your body?
Same as probably 99% of women on the planet Earth, yes, I've had "not so good" thoughts about my body. And i blame society for that.
4. What do you think about on basis of someone’s appearance?
I really wish i could say that it's not important at all. But it's the first feature we see, before even a person could open their mouth. So i bet there are few types of people that frighten all of us. And not everyone wish they can be friends with every bum on the street.. so You know.. appearance is kind of important but i wish it wasn't. And I don't mean it in a weight/beauty way...
Every one of us, want looks diffrent. When I was child I had cruves. When I go to secendary school I had lost weight- I was tall and skinny. Now I want have more feminine silhouette.
DeleteApperance is important. If that was not a woman would not go to plastic surgery
1. What do you think about eating disorders?
ReplyDeleteIt's annoying... Everywhere and everyone talks about that. It's really too much. I know that it is important, but it shouldn't be so insistent.
2. Which beauty canon do you find the most attractive ?
Normal. Just normal. I don't like extremes etc.
3. Have you ever had critically thoughts about your body?
I think that everyone have got. But is it really THAT important? I don't think.
4. What do you think about on basis of someone’s appearance?
The first impression is really important. Often it says really much. But naturally sometimes there are exceptions to this rule.
Maybe for you it is annyoing, but for others not. This isn't insistent. This is a big problem, countries not only highly developed and poor. Peopole don't care about what they eat, and how they live. They only focus about this moment.
DeleteIf we more careful and with more respect we get into our body- we can live longer.
Maciej, you're a man- maybe you don't focus about your thoughts. However, there are a lot of people, who do not accept theirself. They do not talk about their problems- they think it does not make sense to talk about. As a result, they hurt themselves.

ReplyDeleteQuestions:
ReplyDelete1. What do you think about eating disorders?
I think that it's one of biggest problem which will become more and more widely spreaded across the world in the nearest future. I'm not sure if it will be possible to find a solution for that, as a human beings we aren't adopted to sit or lie in the bed for most of the day, to be health and in a good shape we need to move a lot as our bodies demands that.
2. Which beauty canon do you find the most attractive ?
There is no such word for me as beauty canon, I have my own type of beauty and it's really complex, I mean that I cannot match it with some kind of pattern.
3. Have you ever had critically thoughts about your body?
That's a good question, but Yes I had, for me it's very important to be in a good shape, as then I just feel much better, because of that I'm spending a lot of time on workouts, but I really enjoy almost all sport activities.
4. What do you think about on basis of someone’s appearance?
I think that apprearance Can show you a lot, you just need to look carefully. I'm not saying that I'm following stereotypes, it's just based on my own experiences.
ReplyDeleteIt'm really glad you decided to tell us something about this topic. It seems that we don't always realise what eating disorders are really about and we tend to underestimate how serious they might be (at least this was my case). Answering your questions:
1) I think they may be really detrimental and we should not only pay more attention to them, but also find new, more effective measures to prevent and fight them
2) I don't really think I'm into a certain "beauty canon". I found that I've been attrected to girls whose looks vary a lot. I guess I mostly focus on one's personality
3) Not really. Maybe apart from thinking I should excerise a bit more often :) but I guess that's good.
4) I try not to let appearence cloud my judgement and not to conclude who someone is basing on it
1. It's great tragedy for everyone who's touched by them. It must be an awful feeling not to feel comfortable with your own body.
ReplyDelete2. I think beauty it's much more than a single canon.
3. Maybe when I was younger. Now I don't care that much and I accept myself the way I am.
4. As was stated by many in this topic, I don't pay much attention to one's looks. Maybe to hygiene. Yes, hygiene is more important.
1. What do you think about eating disorders?
ReplyDeleteIt is a sad and unnatural thing :( i feel sorry for people suffering this way, because eating is a really basic and vital part of our functioning
2. Which beauty canon do you find the most attractive ?
Curvy, sometimes a little bit chubby, and sometimes slim body type. Beautiful face of course.
3. Have you ever had critically thoughts about your body?
Yeah sometimes i guess everybody has it. But i like my body very much and i think it has a lot of advantages :)
4. What do you think about on basis of someone’s appearance?
Usually if it is not anything extreme i guess nothing. But if i see someone suuper fat and dirty and stinky, WELL I GUESS THAT'S AN EXCEPTIOM
1. What do you think about eating disorders?
ReplyDeleteI think that eating disorders are related to a large extent with mental health. People who have a problem with that simply do not accept themselves as they are, and their ideas about what they may be are exaggerated. These are serious diseases, with which people are struggling for years and help from loved ones is necessary.
2. Which beauty canon do you find the most attractive ?
I like slim women with blonde hair and long-legs with artificial breasts.
I'm kidding:)
If someone is healthy we can see by his body. My canon of beauty is simply not too much and not too little when it comes to weight.
3. Have you ever had critically thoughts about your body?
Yeah, sometimes. Recently, a lot of talking about the ideal, healthy posture and appearance, and it seems to me that everyone sometimes critically looks at their own body.
4. What do you think about on basis of someone’s appearance?
Rather, I try not to judge anyone by appearance. I worked recently with a person who looked like all of us, but she did not care about personal hygiene, just stank. That was my indicator of assessment of that person, do not his look.
