Week 1 [19.03-25.03.2018] Lucid Dreaming

Hey guys! Have you ever heard about so called lucid dreaming?

Would you like to experience such adventure? Did you ever try? If you would try, what kind of dream would you like to experience the most? ;)

  1. I heard about Lucid Dreaming, but I didn't know that there were so many techniques for it. I tried it once. The technique I used consisted in repeating the activities I had done during the day. I really wanted to fly during my sleep, and so did I. It was an astonishing experience. Unfortunately, so far I have only managed it once. Maybe I'll try the other techniques. I would like to try to listen to binaural beats.

    1. This is nice to hear that there are people who already had such experience :) Good luck then with next attempts. Please share if you succeed ^^
      But with my advice, be careful with binaural beats, as I don't know any official scientific research about these and I've encountered some opinions that the binaural sounds can damage brains :/

  2. I’m curious if there is any positive usage of lucid dreaming. I think it’s easy to get addicted to that. Person who is master of this live in totally different reality. When it so easy to control your dreams, despite of how to hard it could be to achieve that it seems to be very addictive as other drugs. I believe it’s very pleasant at first glance but have you ever thought about consequences? People affected by lucid dreaming could be dangerous for others. Sometimes for them it could be hard to recognise what is true and what is not. I’ve heard that lucid dreaming is banned in Catholic’s religion and they’re right. I don’t believe that people are so smart to control it and know when there is time to stop. Everything which seems to be so cool sooner or later may be destructive. I don’t want to try dream in that way. Despite of everything what I said I’m also too lazy to do all of the list presented in your article. I’ll give up right after a few days.

    1. Yes, there are such positive advantages. Lucid dreaming can give you an insight to your subconscious mind and therefore give you many lessons about yourself and the world which affects you. This way you can learn, grow and develop your wisdom, conscience, compassion, sensitivity and maturity.
      Of course there is a risk to get addicted, but if some person gets addicted, it only means that his/her life isn't a happy one, that the person would rather to concetrate on this 'virtual' world of his/her mind. The same risk is with being addicted to casual computer games, to books' stories, to work, to chocolate, to parties, to politics, or to crocheting ;9 It speaks not about computer games, books' stories, work, chocolate, parties, politics or crocheting but about the person. Then it is a sign to this person to change, to get wiser and get more control about the self.
      But even if some computer game, book, lucid dream, or other thing, will inspire us more than the reality we live in, instead of getting addicted to that computer game, book, etc., we can and should try to change our reality as we would like it to be.
      I don't think it is a good idea to ban people from reality, in order to protect them from it. Rather than that, people should be exposed to the reality and learn how to react to it properly. Kitchen knifes can be dangerous too and everybody has an access to them, but nobody forbid them. Literally everything can be destructive if used wrong. There for it isn't an argument to not use them at all. Just try to use them properly and learn from them. This is the way people get wiser, stronger, more mature, and capable of greater and greater things.
      You speak that catholic church has forbidden lucid dreams (why the catholic church won't also forbid f.ex. psychology and medicine at all?), but if I remember well, laziness is forbidden too ;9 Cheers :)

  3. I think that Lucid dreaming could be very useful “life hack”. We all know that sentence: “I have no time to think about it because I’m busy”. If you enter lucid dream, you can try to find how to solve yours daily problems or a way to do something at work. Then you have ready solution which only waits to be used in real life. But if I think about more enjoyable things I would like to see how it is to play a match at Camp Nou with full stands. Just a little dream from childhood. 😉

  4. Hahaha. My problem is that I cannot remember my dreams. Seriously. I remembered maybe only 2 dreams for one year. But I think that it isn't problem for me. It's good to know that there are so many techniques, but i cannot use them ;)
    It would probably be fun to move into a nice place while you sleep.

    1. Maybe try to do some afirmations to convince your subconsciousness to remember the nearest dream. It should help.
      Next thing - if it succeed, try to write down immidiately everything what you remember about given dream. This will increase your 'dream memory' ;)

  5. When I was younger I had kind of a problem with dreams that haunted me repeatedly and were quite disturbing. To overcome problems I was facing in those dreams I somehow became quite aware while dreaming and this way I could shape events in this dream or if it wasn't possible - to wake up.

  6. I have problems with my dreams.
    I often spend time with computer on resolve technical problems before sleeping.
    If I sleep probably my brain still thinks about this problems. I can resolve my tech problem in my `sleeping mode :)`. I have analog notebook nearest my bed. My sleep is shallow. I often wake up. I think that I have ideas from my dream only for few minutes - then I take notes, hovever I can not rest then while I sleep partially.

    1. So it is one of techniques to better remembering dreams! :D
      Maybe you will dream some perfect solution some day. Supposedly many famous inventors 'dreamed out' their ideas :)

    2. PS: But don't forget about healthy sleeping. It's very important to regenerate for your health and performance. Your brain can't solve any problem if there will be no fuel to fill and oil to smear its gears.

  7. I love slepping, always when I get up and I wake up remembering my dream I like to focus on it and stay for a moment. When I remember what I dreamed about I used to analyze these dreams. I think that what we dream has a huge ground in our subconscious.It often shows our subconscious fears. A sacred example of a dream movie is Vanilla Sky with Tom Crusie and Penelope Cruz.

  8. It was an interesting read, though I don't think lucid dreaming is something I myself would ever like to try. It seems a bit scary and unnatural. What about lucid nightmares? Author says that the lucid dreams tend to be more emotional than the regular ones, which means a dreamer has to be frightened. And it's not always easy to wake up. I think about all my worst nightmares, while writing this, and I'm sure I'd rather not remember them, not relive them and not expose myself intentionaly to even stronger negative emotions while dreaming them.
    Other than that, the idea is fascinating. :)

    1. I agree that lucid nightmares can appear too. But it isn't a bad thing. Why? Because lucid dreaming is only a reflection of our minds and subconsciousness. If you will have nightmares, it means you have them anyway in your brain, hiding deep and affecting your real life in various ways. But if you'd face those nightmares you can catch out them, you can learn about them and then overcome them.
      For example some night I had a nightmare. I was attacking by a horde of skeletons and despite a big power I had I couldn't defeat them or even defend myself, despite my very attempts. After waking up I immidiately understood, that the reason I couldn't defeat them was because they were my creation, my imagination and therefore I couldn't fight myself, I couldn't defend from myself, as I cannot run from myself. Rather than that, I should observe my thoughts and emotions to find that scary, and frightened at the same time, side of me and to accept that as a part of me and then change it, not run from it, not try to defend from it or to defeat it.
      When you take a lesson from nightmares, you should not encounter them anymore ;) ^^

  11. I never experienced lucid dreaming but it sounds incredibly. There are so many benefits of controlling an alternative reality. For instance you could create any life scenerio including those from the past. Live your best day over and over again. Overcome your fears and anxiety. Sounds great, doesn’t it? On the other hand the feeling of exhilarating freedom and unlimited power can be really addicting. It’s not hard for me to imagine people losing touch with reality and spending all their time in a perfect world. Moreover I am also curious about the health impact of lucid dreams. After all, is our brain really resting during this process? Nevertheless I would still love to experience this phenomena.
