Nowadays we - as a mankind- stay
before very hard decisions and problems which will affect our future and those
who will come after us. Our perception, our point of view, which we have been
raised in force us to believe that everything is normal and as it should be,
that it was like that many years before and will be many years ahead, and it is
good. Is it really? Please listen to this wise little
girl:
The thing is even deeper. We have
crisis not only of economy, but also of ‘humanity in humanity’. We tend to do
evil or stupid things making our and other people's lives full of unnecessary
suffering and stopping all from progress and happiness. It is some kind of a
vicious circle. See this:
I understand that it is easier not to
care, not to even know. We’d rather not know because sometimes the truth is
hard to bear. We’d rather feign
everything is ok, and we do it subconsciously. And in some part we are right,
because we often have many other problems, closer ones, which affect us directly
here and now. But we are not separate beings. We are not separate from each
other, we are not separate from political systems which govern our world, we
are not separate from nature, from our planet. Therefore, we should give a bit
of our concern also to these aspects. We should think sometimes where we live,
how we live, how we should and shouldn't to live, is our life really and
honestly good, and how to make it better. Because our civilization needs to
change for better. It needs to stop useless wars and suffering and needs to
create a system which gives much potential to all people to live happily.
It isn't a mere fantasy or speech of
frightened and crazy mind. It is our reality and in the past many great and
widely respected minds already thought about these issues, e.g. Albert Einstein
and Sigmund Freud.
These two were writing letters to each other about
ideas to stop wars and make an international organ to care about world peace
and development. If you want to know more about this, you can read a
synopsis, e.g. at: Link1, and
original letters at: Link2.
They were not the only ones. Besides,
there were other great personas like Mahatma Ghandi, Nelson Mandela, Dalai Lama XIV
Tenzin Giatso, and others. There is also Jacque Fresco, who got an idea of The Venus Project which aims
to create a perfect futuristic society.
I also encourage you to watch in your free time The Zeitgeist Movement's movies. They show us the faults of our civilization and
suggestions how to change it for better. When I watched them, literally they
changed my mind.
It is moral
duty of each of us - habitants of this beautiful planet with marvelous
potential (which even philosophers haven't dreamed of yet, which is still
outside minds of many people) to care about it and its future, because it is
also our future.
I would like to ask you a few questions:
- Have you ever thought about such issues and made an effort to change something for better in those areas?
- Have you ever heard about the above mentioned projects?
- What do you think about the current situation of our civilization and its nearest development prognosis?
- Would you like to contribute to the idea of changing the world for better?
- Do you think common people have power to change something? Why? And if no, then how to change it?

1. Not really, but I am a volunteer in a shelter. I know that it isn't such problem like hunger. Sometimes financially support the various charities
ReplyDelete2. I cannot heard about the first film which you publish, because I born in '92 :D But seriously I never heard about that projects.
3. The forecasts are not promising, we all know. But as a small unit we do not have many opportunities to change it.
4. Sure, what can I do? :)
5. It's typical hard question. One person cannot do big changes, but if we create groups it's different.
Wow, it is great of you! Respect ;)
DeleteI think opportunities are not by themselves, but people create them.
I think you do more than many already so just keep going :) But if you want do more, maybe think about making some videoblog on YouTube, where you can discuss about hot problems of our civilization and about ideas to solve them... or gather knowledge in serious areas as politics or economy, to become someone in the future who have power to change things ^^
Every group consists of units. No group will do anything good if its units have no wisdom, consciousness and knowledge. So don't count on groups, but rather as buddists say, start from the self.
Imagine what a group of such evolved people can do ;)
Have you ever thought about such issues and made an effort to change something for better in those areas?
ReplyDelete-So, some of small problems i try to solve by myself. For example recycling.
Have you ever heard about the above mentioned projects?
-No, it's something completely new for me. I know that there are some organisations trying to protect the planet or animals, children etc.
What do you think about the current situation of our civilization and its nearest development prognosis?
-For me civilisation start to have global problem with the next positive step. We need to choose governments wich will make progressive positive steps.
Would you like to contribute to the idea of changing the world for better?
-Obviously, YES
Do you think common people have power to change something? Why? And if no, then how to change it?
-I think everyone with correct motivation can have some effect in changes
"So, some of small problems i try to solve by myself. For example recycling." - Well, it is a good start :)
Delete"No, it's something completely new for me. I know that there are some organisations trying to protect the planet or animals, children etc." - Happily they are. They restore faith in humanity :D
"For me civilisation starts to have global problem with the next positive step. We need to choose governments which will make progressive positive steps." - I agree, but how to do it? Maybe more people should try to get needed knowledge and to become an influential politician? Or at least do something what will inspire those who already are in power.
"Obviously, YES" - Great! :D So, what are you going to start with? ^^
"I think everyone with correct motivation can have some effect in changes" - I totally agree :)
Have you ever thought about such issues and made an effort to change something for better in those areas?
ReplyDelete– Yes, I have. How can you not think about it when you can experience the issues in everday life. For example the smog which was present during the winter. My effort are only small things like recycling.
Have you ever heard about the above mentioned projects?
– No, I haven't. I haven't conducted any reasarch on my own and I only heard about the issues in news.
What do you think about the current situation of our civilization and its nearest development prognosis?
– I think we have too big disparity between poor and wealthy in our society. It's a know fact that major part of society is consider poor. People won't care about environment when they have to struggle with everyday life.
Would you like to contribute to the idea of changing the world for better?
– Well, who can answer no to such a question. I'd like to contribute as well as anyone.
Do you think common people have power to change something? Why?
And if no, then how to change it?
– Yes, I think common people have the power to change something. The power of crowd is unpredictable, but what every crowd need to make a impact is strong leader who will lead the way for them.
"Yes, I have. How can you not think about it when you can experience the issues in everday life. For example the smog which was present during the winter. My effort are only small things like recycling." - Yes, you are right. It's good that you see it. Unfortunatelly not everybody does. I think if in Warsaw everybody would ride bikes, they would arrive to their work faster than staying in traffic :D and it would be so much healthier for them and for atmosphere.
Delete"No, I haven't. I haven't conducted any reasarch on my own and I only heard about the issues in news." - And how do you see those projects in comparison to what has been shown in tv?
"I think we have too big disparity between poor and wealthy in our society. It's a known fact that major part of society is consider poor. People won't care about environment when they have to struggle with everyday life." - Sadly it is true. But if people won't do something with this all, they will remain poor. It is some kind of a vicious circle, isn't it?
"Well, who can answer no to such a question. I'd like to contribute as well as anyone." - I am afraid a majority of people says no, becouse otherwise we would be living in a completely different (better) world already.
"Yes, I think common people have the power to change something. The power of crowd is unpredictable, but what every crowd needs to make an impact is a strong leader who will lead the way for them." - So, maybe instead for waiting for a such one, become the one? ;)
Have you ever thought about such issues and made an effort to change something for better in those areas?
ReplyDeleteI did think of them. I try to eliminate waste. I don't waste water. I shop with my own bags so I don't buy unnecessary plastic bags. I recycle. I buy more sustainable brands when comes to clothing. I don't own a car, only use public transport.
Have you ever heard about the above mentioned projects?
Yes, I saw it on Netflix documentaries and on Youtube, similar topics. There are many organisations and celebrities that are fighting for more green world.
What do you think about the current situation of our civilization and its nearest development prognosis?
If we don't stop it the end can be very bitter. We have to stop the pollution. Goverment should be more open about this.
Would you like to contribute to the idea of changing the world for better?
I can't say no and everyone should help as well.
Do you think common people have power to change something? Why? And if no, then how to change it?
Of course, common people have a lot of power. We consume the goods, but can change how we consume them. Even one person can make a huge difference in our future.
'I did think of them. I try to eliminate waste. I don't waste water. I shop with my own bags so I don't buy unnecessary plastic bags. I recycle. I buy more sustainable brands when comes to clothing. I don't own a car, only use public transport.' - That's something already, nice.
Delete'Yes, I saw it on Netflix documentaries and on Youtube, similar topics. There are many organisations and celebrities that are fighting for more green world.' - I sounds great, but I wonder, if they are so many, why they haven't succeed yet? :P :/
'If we don't stop it the end can be very bitter. We have to stop the pollution. Goverment should be more open about this.' - I agree completely. At least we know we shouldn't vote for those who don't care about the natural environment.
'I can't say no and everyone should help as well.' - Yes, it would be great. Nice to have you on board ;)
'Of course, common people have a lot of power. We consume the goods, but can change how we consume them. Even one person can make a huge difference in our future.' - It is so true...
1. I am, of course, fully conscious of the problem. I sorts the garbage, save water, I don't throw food away.
ReplyDelete2. No, I've never heard about of these projects.
3. Globalization and civilization progress has a negative impact on the environment.
Consumption is more important, people don't think about the future of the planet.
4. Of course, yes.
5. Unfortunately, money rule the world, common man doesn't means anything.
As long as corporations makes money even at the expense of the environment nothing will change.
It is very good of you that you make an effort :)
DeleteExactly, it is a shame that governments and corporations and their earnings are more important than people and quality of their lifes. I hope someday it will change and hope that it will become a reality sooner than later ^^
Yes, I have though about mankind’s future issues. I think I do that every day in some way. I worry about the future. World is a strange place and maybe it’s not about world, but people. On the other hand I don’t want to fell overwhelmed by those things because it full of them everywhere I we need time to live and feel alive, be not connected with every problems. Everybody hs a lot problems in daily routine. It’s hard to some of us to take care of others. Don’t you think people should be more responsible than they are? Especially people who have a power. We can’t feel responsible for everybody. Of course we can’t let them to do what they want but sometimes the voice of individual is worth nothing and that person lose their life. As I said, I’m not this kind of person who cares too much about others so I’ve never heard about projects which you mentioned. I’d like to be a person who change world in positive way and fo the better but I can’t sacrifice my calmness to other. I think people have power when they are in group. One person doesn’t make a difference, group of people do.
ReplyDeleteYeah, those things are often overwhelming :/
DeleteAnd of course people want to feel alive and have right to do so. But at the same time if they do nothing, soon they can have no possibility to feel alive any more. Untill problems touch people directly they probably will not act, what makes tragedies inevitable :/
I agree that one person cannot take all the responsibility for the self, but people should find some equilibrium between acting for better life for everyone and acting for the closest people and environment.
At first, I want to answer on the first question. I’m sure that common people have power to make significant changes. But we have to remember that we have to start from ourselves. If we have bad approach to people or just things around us how we can share our positive energy. So, if you ask me about efforts to change something for better I’ll admit that I’ve started from understanding myself. Because of that I can be more positive about anything what makes me angry before. That makes me fell better and I’m sure that influences on another people around me and then goes viral. I’ve never heard about mentioned projects because I’m more interested in looking for good aspects of life on this planet rather than reading about these types of concerns about humanity.
ReplyDeleteIt is very wise of you to start from yourself. It is the core of beginning of making anything in this world ^^
DeleteBut there is something further, because nobody can begin all the time, because eventually the time comes for making next steps towards others.
You cannot look through pink glasses all the time. It is great if you have such possibilities but many people do not, and if things will go as they go now, you can lose them either. An equilibrium is needed. People can change something for better only if they see before what they have been doing wrong. And you are part of the society, and are linked with everything else. Positive attitude won't feed anybody and won't fix global problems. It only will be an escape. But no escape can last forever :/
PS: Reading about these types of concerns about humanity is indeed a good aspect of life, because it shows you care, you are a good person, and it can lead to change for better life for the self and for the others.

ReplyDelete1. Have you ever thought about such issues and made an effort to change something for better in those areas?
ReplyDeleteYes, I did.
2. Have you ever heard about the above mentioned projects?
I did some research in the past regarding green world so I had known about this projects. For people who care about our environment I would also like to recommend the movie „Earthlings”.
3. What do you think about the current situation of our civilization and its nearest development prognosis?
Overpopulation, environment wrecking pollution, wealth disparity, wars driven by greed. Those are just some of the modern civilization issues. While I think that we are doing a good job in terms of developing technology and science, social and environmental aspect still needs a lot of improvements. Unfortunately most of people don’t care about this because it is not their problem, or so they think.
4. Would you like to contribute to the idea of changing the world for better?
Everyone should contribute to the idea for changing the world for better.
5. Do you think common people have power to change something? Why? And if no, then how to change it?
In theory, yes, assuming that majority of our society would unite to accomplish this goals. History has already proven that big social movements can impact the way we live. Conscious consumption and open opposition may force even big corporations to change their ways.
'Yes, I did.' - Could you specify and tell a little more..?
Delete' I did some research in the past regarding green world so I had known about this projects. For people who care about our environment I would also like to recommend the movie „Earthlings”.' - Thanks for the reccomendation :)
'Overpopulation, environment wrecking pollution, wealth disparity, wars driven by greed. Those are just some of the modern civilization issues. While I think that we are doing a good job in terms of developing technology and science, social and environmental aspect still needs a lot of improvements. Unfortunately most of people don’t care about this because it is not their problem, or so they think.' - Yep. I wish there were more concerns about environment and social politics in nowadays world.
'Everyone should contribute to the idea for changing the world for better.' - That's right! :)
'In theory, yes, assuming that majority of our society would unite to accomplish this goals. History has already proven that big social movements can impact the way we live. Conscious consumption and open opposition may force even big corporations to change their ways.' - Sometimes that's right but unfortunately not always. For example I was on the protest against CETA, many people came (but not as many as should anyway) and it changed nothing. But at the other hand I remember protests against ACTA and they worked perfectly :D
Well.. mentioning Nelson Mandela while writing about changing the world to be more peacefull place is not a good idea. First of all because of actions he took to change it. Lets just say he didn't spend 28 years in prison without a cause.. Other thing is whole Zeitgeist movement.. I find some ideas quite ok, but as whole they sound like guys with tinfoil hats hunting aliens in ancient history. People have power to change reality it's one of greatest powers humankind developed. Other thing is that it is hard to decide what change would be the best for all.
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting what you say... Could you tell something more? For example why in your opinion Nelson Mandela was imprisoned?
DeleteYou are laughing from people who do researches on UFO subject, but they can laught from you. But in opposite to them, you probably have no arguments they are wrong, and they have arguments they are right.
Yes, it is hard to create the best model of civilization, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't try to. We have a powerful tool to do so - brains, logic and knowledge.
What a moving video.
ReplyDeleteI think about the issues, Severn Suzuki talks about, quite often and it always makes me sad. Even more so because I can't say I ever took any significant actions that could be considered an effort to change our world for better. I sort garbage like most of us, I would never throw trash in the forest, I'm trying to save water but I don't feel that doing things like that is enough. I admire people who are brave enough and devote their lives to making a change.
I haven't heard about the project you mentioned but I will look them up for sure.
I fear the future. On TV I see hungry children, wars, terrorists, dead whales with stomachs full of plastic and I ask myself if I want to bring my own children into the world where these kinds of things happen everyday.
I wrote that I don't think I'm doing enough but isn't this really about a lot of small changes? More about small contribution of everyone of us than some big gestures of a handful of people?
These are very good questions. I think both approaches are relevant. People should make those small contributions, but it would be great if they additionally have done some big gestures also.
DeleteMany people believe they cannot do anything big, but it isn't true. If everybody would increase their knowledge and share with it in their closest environment and maybe even further, thankt to internet, it would be something already. Yet more, poeple can gather in bigger groups and try to influence governments and it could be really work.
Maybe some of people who care, would even get into the government and would influence it from the interior. Information is a very powerful tool.
Thanks for interesting article. I never heard about this film, but I think that any people can change world. If you will be expert in some segment and you will have a lot of self-denial, You can resolve many world problems.
ReplyDeleteExactly, this is what I think too! :)
DeleteThere are many problems to solve, but unfortunately too little people to care and to be interested in those areas and have enough motivation to gain knowledge and become an expert who could solve at least some part of them...
1. Have you ever thought about such issues and made an effort to change something for better in those areas?
ReplyDeleteI have heard about these problems, but I always use common sense in such matters. Using eg LED lights or gas heating comes naturally.
2. Have you ever heard about the above mentioned projects?
Yes, I've read about a few different projects. Most of them are utopian visions that have no chance of being implemented. For it to succeed, it must be economically justified and profitable. Therefore, such projects must be implemented as technology advances.
3. What do you think about the current situation of our civilization and its nearest development prognosis?
I believe that the development of technology itself makes the use of energy more efficient and thus more 'green'
4. Would you like to contribute to the idea of changing the world for better?
I think I'm doing it already. Being a conscious person and investing in new, more efficient use of energy, eg LED lights ;)
5. Do you think common people have power to change something? Why? And if no, then how to change it?
Ordinary people have the greatest influence. Economic justification is the key. For example, gas installations in cars, people assemble them mainly for reasons of economy. The cost-effective 'green' technology will soon become popular.
'I have heard about these problems, but I always use common sense in such matters. Using eg LED lights or gas heating comes naturally.' - It's good even this, but I wonder if common sense shouldn't include something more though.
Delete'Yes, I've read about a few different projects. Most of them are utopian visions that have no chance of being implemented. For it to succeed, it must be economically justified and profitable. 'I believe that the development of technology itself makes the use of energy more efficient and thus more 'green'' - Yes, it is... But isn't the nowadays civilization with all this technology like a little girl with firesticks? Green is not everything. People must make an effort to become advanced in many areas yet, not only technology.
'I think I'm doing it already. Being a conscious person and investing in new, more efficient use of energy, eg LED lights ;)' - Well, that's something ^^ But here it is not the only issue. Civilization needs repairation on many fields.
'Ordinary people have the greatest influence. Economic justification is the key. For example, gas installations in cars, people assemble them mainly for reasons of economy. The cost-effective 'green' technology will soon become popular.' - Did you heard about cars driven by water? They exist, but people who invented them are dead and nobody use them. I am not sure about that as you are :/
I do some basic stuff like garbage segregation or using environment friendly detergents. My fiancé is also good at fixing all kind of electronic gadgets. Some of our friends got their phones and other things fixed this way. Other way they would probably buy new ones.
ReplyDeleteI’ve never heard of such comprehensive initiatives. I know organizations like PeTA which is devoted to save animals, or Green Peace involved in so called ecopolitics.
I think that our society is slowly growing up, and our knowledge in the matter of saving Earth resources is enhancing. I acknowledge it as a good sign for the future.
I try to reduce my negative influence to environment as much as possible. I know that by doing so I can also benefit. It’s better to go to a park on Sunday than staying in home and being distracted with all kinds of electronic equipment. Thanks to that I do not only reduce power consumption of my household, but I also keep fit. What is more, I can protect environment and reduce my household expenses.
I think that discussions about how to sustain our habitat is the is the best way to educate people, and thanks to that as a society we can do great things.
It is really good to hear you try to reuse things instead of buying new ones :) If everybody does like that, the world would be a better place, firstly because of saving environment and secondly because economy would look completely differently then. So keep going with that ;)
DeleteYes, I hope that too, that society is growing up, slowly but that's better then nothing :)
I would like to discussions were enough, and maybe they are... So let's spread the knowledge, cuz the future of our planet and therefore all the people, depends on it :)
Have you ever thought about such issues and made an effort to change something for better in those areas?
ReplyDeleteYes I thought about this issues very deeply, but the biggest problem of humanity is that we forget. Our memory is constructed in a way that keeps our mind less occupied. I tried to be vegetarian for some time but unfortuantely I started to eat meat again. This issue is also very important because meat industry is producing more greenhouse gases than overall count of cars in the world. I'm thinking to start again, at least to limit the amount of meat consumption, because it's very important for me to live in the safe environment.
Have you ever heard about the above mentioned projects?
No I didn't, it's the first time I hear about this. They seem to be very idealistic, which is always a problem when we speak about human nature. I think that "Venus Project" is a copy of Thomas Moore idea and his "Utopia". As an idea - it's very interesting. It would be great if people would go out of their comfort zones and become a population that analyzes what's next to them in larger period. Unfortunately it's very hard because what we first think about is to protect what's really next to us - to eat what's cheaper, to protect only our family and things like that. We don't think what's next, who will be next, the whole mainstream teaches us that we have bigger problems now, so we shouldn't think about problems tomorrow.
What do you think about the current situation of our civilization and its nearest development prognosis?
I think we are in trouble, humanity is doomed. As every cell in our body - it borns and dies. Earth is like a bigger cell in whole universe so I think that it will have the same future as cells in our body. Maybe somebody will save us developing less pollution emmiting devices, that will replace coal energy etc. But I think it's too late.
Would you like to contribute to the idea of changing the world for better?
I think I'm not the best guy for this work. It seems to be a very hard work and right now I wouldn't have time for that. Maybe in the future when I'll become less occupied I'll try to join some organization that changes the world for better.
Do you think common people have power to change something? Why? And if no, then how to change it?
Of course, yes! Even by changing what we eat, what we buy, what our habits are etc. By switching off computers when we go out, by choosing vegetables rather than meat, by buying less food in plastic packs. Actually by buying less plastic overall (for example by using multiple usage bags). Revolution stars from one individual here.
'Yes I thought about this issues very deeply, but the biggest problem of humanity is that we forget. Our memory is constructed in a way that keeps our mind less occupied. But it would be great to lower a consumption of meats..
Delete'No I didn't, it's the first time I hear about this. They seem to be very idealistic, which is always a problem when we speak about human nature. 'I think we are in trouble, humanity is doomed. As every cell in our body - it borns and dies. Earth is like a bigger cell in whole universe so I think that it will have the same future as cells in our body. Maybe somebody will save us developing less pollution emmiting devices, that will replace coal energy etc. But I think it's too late.' - Why so pesimistic? :( And you want to give up and just wait fot such a doom? Shouldn't we fight to the last for better future?
'I think I'm not the best guy for this work. It seems to be a very hard work and right now I wouldn't have time for that. Maybe in the future when I'll become less occupied I'll try to join some organization that changes the world for better.' - I think all people who are conscious about all the threats hanging above us are right people for the work :) The rest is only motivaton. As master Yoda once said: 'There is no try. Do or do not.' ;P :)
I wanted to summarize our little discussion :)
ReplyDeleteI was very nicely surprised that ALL OF YOU! :D care about our environment and shape of our civilization... I wasn't aware of such awarness and you restored my faith in humanity :D I only hope that these statistics translate onto a greater scale and that a majority of people care too, but maybe just are too shy or believe that they are alone. But apparently they aren't :) Almost all of you declared you want to contribute for the better world. If we spreaded the ideas maybe they would work as a domino and pushed larger amount of people to believe in themselves and other people and their power to change things. It shall start from somewhere, so why not from us :) Keep going with that guys, and maybe our future is not lost yet ;)
