Week 6 [01-07.06.20] The most interesting places to visit after pandemic in Poland

Did you know that we have plenty of interesting places that are not spending fortune on advertisement and focus on customer experience. Many of those places lost huge amounts of money due to lack of visitors. Now we are in last phase of opening places and traveling in Poland so I think we should plan some great time. This is my personal list, I hope that below article we will have a great discussion and share much more!

First and the most exciting on my list: Energylandia!
Energylandia is located in Zator in southern Poland. It has approximately 35 hectares size and still developing their attractions. One of the most known is for sure Hyperion which is the tallest and fastest Mega Rollercoaster in Europe! Just imagine that it has 77 meters high (to compare, 77 meters is on 20 floor, quite high), you are riding over 140 km/h! It has many upside down parts and water splash effects. I can’t wait to visit Energylandia. What is important, you pay once for enterence and you can spend there whole day and use every attraction, so you should get up early and be there first! Queues are huge as rollercoasters. I suggest you to sleep in Kraków, because it’s 50km from Energylandia. Remember to bring you own food, I heard that this is not strong point of this place. Take a look at main attractions:

Second one is a place that I’ve already bought tickets: Zoo Park in Borysew.
This zoo park is right after Łódź, so closer than Energylandia from Warsaw. To see all of animal species that are there you will need some time. You can meet there extremely rare White Lion from Africa. That’s the rarest lion’s coat and it looks amazing. Representation of cats is very strong there, White Bengal Tiger, Puma, Lynx, Serval and one dog – Dingo J. Also more friendly animals live here, like: monkeys, giraffes, turtles, all of Safari horses – e.g. Zebra, Lama and many many more. I recommend you to check time of feeding show (alligators will be the most spectacular I think J).

Third one with mixed feelings, but worth to try: Park of Poland – Suntago Wodny Świat.
After huge opening there was many uncomplimentary opinions about it. Part of park is not working, too much people, awful restaurants, lack of stuff etc. Later I watched few reviews and check again previous opinions. Conclusions: don’t visit Suntago during weekends or even Fridays. Forget about Bank Holidays as well. But if you can, take one day off and go there to feel like on tropical island with lots of attractions. What is the best? They have adults area without any children. Don’t kid yourself, when you want to relax children are not the best comrades. At the beginning when you have full batteries visit Green Mamba slide – 294 meters long and Black Thunder – cool name! Then check all pools, there are 18 of them. Next station: saunas and relax at beach bar. Also you can arrange surprise for your girlfriend or wife in Suntago SPA.

1.       Did you visit those places? Share your opinion!
2.       Which other places can you recommend in Poland?
3.       If you have enough money, what kind of place/amusement park will you create? Don’t limit yourself!

  1. I’ve never visited any of these places but I was going to visit Suntago. My parents were here and they were very pleased. They’ve said that the only drawback was waiting in queues but they preferred laying on sunbeds and chill so it didn’t affect them so much. I hope that I’ll be able to go there soon. In Poland, I like cities that are near the sea, especially the whole Tricity. I have a sentiment to it and for me, it’s a magic place. What's more, I’m going to Sopot with my wife for our honeymoon because we’ve got married the last Saturday.

    1. Congratulations! I guess it must have been hard for you to face such a task, which is wedding during an epidemic. How did you deal with all isues? How did the ceremony go? I'm curious about it, because I'm planning to get married too.

  2. 1. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to visit any of these places. Maybe in the future I will be able to go to all the places you mentioned.

    2. In my opinion, every city and every corner on the worls has special attractions, depends on what kind of person you are, you will choose something for you. Some people like to travel and visit different further reaches of our land, others prefer to see historic and vintage buildings and churches, and others enjoy the nature that surrounds them. I think that each of the lands - Masuria, mountains and seaside has something to offer to tourists, just look for the right entertainment.

    3. It's hard to say... It was never my big dream to create a building like this. I'm rater a person which really stay on her toes.

    1. I hope you will visit at least one of them. I prefer mountains. I visit Tatry at least 2 times a year, but one day trip to Masuria is great idea as well. Thanks for your opinion :)

  3. I haven't visit these places yet, but I've heard of each of them. I would love to visit Energylandia because I love amusement parks!

I was in the Reda Aquapark and I highly recommend it! I spent there all day with my friends and we had a great time. I especially recommend the Ultra Speed slide and the peaceful drift on the artificial river for lazy swimmers. 😌

If I had unlimited money ... I have a lot of ideas, hahah. I think it would be great to recreate the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory or themed House of Fears stylized for the 80's (Addams Family, Elvira Mistress Of the Dark etc) OR something like The London Dungeon but with Warsaw legends and crime stories.

    1. Do you know that now in Energylandia there is -20pln discount? Maybe this will be trigger to visit this amazing place :) Thanks for your recommendation, I will check Reda Aquapark for sure!
HELL YEAH! I hoped that someone will say "Willy Wonka"! I love this movie and this amazing vision of chocolate factory. Other ideas are also great, especially Warsaw Dungeons and Dragons :)

  4. No, I have never visited any of these places but my friends were in Energylandia and highly recommend it! I will definitely try. Nice article - now such recommendations and discussions are very valuable when you are looking for a place to vacation in Poland. From places in Poland I can only recommend Masuria and Western Pomerania. For holidays in Poland I only visit forests and national parks. We have beautiful nature in Poland. If I were to create an amusement park, it would probably be connected with nature. Maybe survival? Certainly something close to nature 😸

  5. Unfortunately, but I've never been to these places. My brother was in the Energyland and highly recommends, but just as you wrote, he suggest sleeping in Krakow and going there for the whole weekend, because you can't go to all the attractions in one day!

I have not heard of the zoo park, but honestly I do not even want to go there, I am not too interested in such places, but park of Poland a lot. My friend was there and unfortunately he was on weekend and a crowd of people, but he left delighted that such a huge park is so close to Warsaw.

As for other places, I suggest actively taking a bike and going to Masuria, for example! Recently, I have also heard about car cinemas, which is also a good solution in a coronavirus situation and I will definitely use it.

I don't have much money, so the theme park is not in my future plans. :(

    1. I see that everyone recommend Energylanida, thanks for one more vote :) yup, I will visit Safari Zoo during work week, not at weekend for sure.

  6. Great article and very timely!

I have never been to these places, but some of them I wanted to visit, for example, energy.
I'm currently looking for places where I can go with my dog. Me and my partner have a beautiful mongrel and I would love to take her with us on various trips. We are currently traveling with her rather to friends, our dog has never been with us at any hotel.

Once I have packed with my girlfriend and we drove straight ahead without a plan. I asked "where now?" and she answered. In this way we came to Ustrzyki Dolne. Beautiful place, great surroundings. We saw the bison, which was very important to my girlfriend. We saw many beautiful places, we walked a lot. I definitely recommend it as a place to really relax.

if I had money, I would realize one of my girlfriend's and her sister's visions. They have a lot of ideas and sometimes talk about what they could do if they quit working in a corporation. There are many ideas, one is clearer, others fall off after a long analysis. It doesn't change the fact that I liked them all and I would simply become a shareholder :)

    1. I have the same problem with my cats, but it's different story. Cats are not dogs :) Ustszyki Dolne hmm did you watch Wataha last time maybe?

    2. No, I've seen maybe 15 minutes of one episode. But maybe watching it and going there again is a good idea? I think that going to places seen in TV maybe more exciting than going just to see nice sights :)

  7. 1. Did you visit those places? Share your opinion!

So far I didn't visit any of those places. Places like Energylandia are not my cup of tea but I would love to go and visit Zoo Park!

    2. Which other places can you recommend in Poland?

I'm much more into nature so what I would highly recommend is to visit one of polish Mountains range - Tatry or Bieszczady in a first place or Mazury lakes. I think that it's easily comparable to "fancy" places in Europe and for me big advantage is that it's less crowded (maybe besides most popular places like Kasprowy Wierch :D )

    3. If you have enough money, what kind of place/amusement park will you create? Don’t limit yourself!

I think it would be definitely some nature-related kind of place. If money really won't be an issue I would probably buy shitload of land and try to prevent it as unaffected as possible and with combination of modern-technology free cabins it might really bring huge profits because it's more and more common that people are willing to pay more, for less ;)

    1. Jakub, you can buy ticket online (at zoo website) and support them in these hard times. Ticket will be valid till end of 2020 year. You are right, Kasprowy Wierch is very popular. I recommend you Czerwone Wierchy and Dolina Pięciu Stawów, those places are worth to visit, believe me!

  8. Did you visit those places? Share your opinion!

Two years ago I had a chance to visit Energylandia. Unfortunately, when I was there Hyperion was closed (I think that had not been bulit yet). In my opinion this place is worth to visit. There are plenty of fantastic attractions, but you need cool your heels during waiting in long queues.

Which other places can you recommend in Poland?
Hm... I don't know any other place like this in Poland, but I can recomend an amusement park in Germany - Heide-Park. It is located near Hamburg :) In my opinion this park is better than our Energylandia, but the distance is quite longer.

If you have enough money, what kind of place/amusement park will you create? Don’t limit yourself!

I would create a small Bali in the suburbs of Warsaw... I think that new builded Park of Poland is a great start to do it :)

    1. Another good opinion about Energyladnia! I will take cards to play in those queues maybe :) Heide-Park, noted!

  9. I've actually haven't been travelling too much across Poland since I was 15. I want to change this during upcoming years, so I'd love to share my opinion then!
As I've said, I've haven't been travelling across Poland too much. I have some favourite cities but none of them is so innovative or uncommon as attractions mentioned in article.
My dream trip is to rent 4x4 car like land cruiser and drive across middle and southern Asia and make this trip last 1 or two months.

    1. So do I, I had plans to visit Italy and Zanzibar this year but... we are forced to stay in Poland, so Jakub be patient and try to avoid rednecks :) I hope your dream will come true as soon as possible!

  10. I am not used to visit places like that but my favourite thing is seeing abandoned places. My first one was abandoned mental asylum in Otwock. And I can definitely recommend abandoned hostel near Płock which looks amazing and is really well preserved. I would not create an amusement park but would definitely renovate some old places which can be changed into some museum or create one from things gathered from them.

    1. Thanks for sharing your opinion. Maybe this is a good idea for creating your own business or TV series?

  11. I was in only one of those places – Aquapark Santago. I enjoy swimming, which is why I decided to go there. Unfortunately, it turned out that my expectations were slightly too high. Many things in the Santago were poorly designed, which significantly affected the level of comfort and fun. Also, not all attractions worked, although the price remained the same.
I recommend Glamping to everyone who wants to experience something new. In Poland, there are several places providing such service (among others near Warsaw and in the Tatra Mountains). It's a type of camping, which is accompanied by all amenities. Customers can both feel the atmosphere of survival and eat a luxurious dinner between the trees. It is often accompanied by sleeping in transparent bubbles in the bosom of nature (which allows admiring the stars at night).
With an unlimited amount of money, I would create a huge car cinema inspired by the 1970s in the United States. However, guests would not use their own cars. Renovated classic vehicles would be available on site. Thanks to this, it would be a pleasure not only to watch a movie but also to admire unique cars.

    1. I had the same situation at Chochołów Terms - the best slide was out of order, but prize was unchanged. This kind of situations are highly unfair. Nice idea with creating Car Cinema, I will visit it for sure.

  12. I was in Energylandia a long time ago, and I must admit that it is worth visiting this place. It was great fun! I have heard that a lot has changed since I was there, so it's probably time to go there again.
When it comes to places in Poland that are worth visiting, I would say give up everything and go to the Bieszczady Mountains.
Personally, I love water parks, so if I had an unlimited amount of money I would probably create a huge, exotic water park.

    1. hahaha Bieszczady Mountains becomes too popular due to this quote :) I love snorkeling so I will be first in queue

  13. A very interesting idea for an article. I've never been to any of places that you described in the article above.

I am rather one of those people who like the mother nature to take a step back, for example rafting down the Świdnica river 15 km in 3-5 hours. Sounds great, right :)

Another good idea is Kitesurfing in Chłupy, Płuck or Jastarnia (now the wind is perfect).

The cheapest one and best to do daily in my opinion to relax - all you need is a walk to the wild part of the Vistula, you can even find beavers in very good condition.

I never thought about craft such place of entertainment, but it would be dedicated to extreme sports for sure. :)

  14. I didn't visit any of those places, one of my friend want to me go with him to Energylandia and I was planning to visit Park of Poland, but, of course, epidemic changed all my plans for a longer period of time. I visited some places in Poland, but I think it is worth to see Christmas Market in Wrocław which is just beautiful. All those lights and ornamention are just amazing. If I have enough many I would like to create a place which allow people to rest and forget about all problems for several days.

  15. I havent seen any of these places, to be honest. When it comes to me, Suntago seems very nice. I like water amenities, especially huge slides. Hyperios
seems very interesting but it's quite far from my home.
There are a lot of places to reccomend, but I really enjoy nature so traveling through Tatry mountains and Bieszczady are always interesting experiences.
If I have enough money, I will create something like safari zone for car drivers. This idea has impessed me sinse I had seen for the first time.

  16. I was in Energylandia once but it was before I realized I'm actually scared of rollercoasters. It was probably the last time I'm going to visit it but it was still quite fun ;)
I can't remember any place in particular but if you like nature, I'd highly recommend Bieszczady. A lot of people make fun of it but it's actually really beautiful place and not many tourists go there, which makes it even better.
I'm not sure but I think creating some kind of medieval parks with special events where everyone can be knight or take part in some tournament would be cool.

  17. I haven't been to any of these places so far. The HYPERION ride seems to be very exciting, so I'd love to try it. Going to the zoo also sounds encouraging, it's a great way to have a nice afternoon. As for Suntago, I read a lot of negative reviews especially right after opening. Apparently, most of the facilities there did not work. I recommend all places where there is contact with nature. We have wonderful mountains, lakes, the sea and it is nature that is the best thing about traveling around Poland.
I would create an amusement park where you can do spectacular things. Send a rocket into space, shoot a real tank, drive a super sports car. It sounds like fun :)

  18. I've never been to these places, but I've heard of Energylandia and Suntago. This is not my type of rest. Usually, I choose a vacation close to nature, so my favorite places in Poland are mountain trails, masurian lakes and baltic beaches and forests, far from crowds and noise;) I recommend to get lost in Poland and find the most beautiful places in the middle of nowhere - it's easier in the summertime ;) If I had an unlimited budget I would like to build a retro 60s resort near the Baltic Sea. With the music of the 60s, costumes and equipment straight from the past without a single modern element. It would be a time machine-place for every nostalgic person:)

  19. I'm excited about travelling to polish hidden gems this year's holiday season. At first I was pretty upset that I couldn't go abroad as usual, but now I think I have finally opportunity to check out some of these amazing places in my country like Bieszczady where I've never been.I'm not a huge fan of entertainment parks, but I'm up for a trip to Enerdylandia. Especially after those long months of isolation, it could be a nice change.I definitely wouldn't go to a zoo because for me, it's very depressing to see wild animals in closer.I'm very tempted to go to Sundango as I love water parks and waterslides.

For my holidays in Poland I planed to sped some time at the seaside and explore the cost. I would love to go on a canoeing trip in Masuria and maybe visit one of beautiful castles from XVI century on Dolny Śląsk.

  20. I've heard about Energyland and I'd love to go there. All the friends who were there praise each other very much. I love adrenaline and all kinds of entertainment, so this would be the perfect place for me.

A very cool place where you can spend the whole day is Wroclaw Zoo. New attractions are opening now, so you can go even longer :) Although I'm not a fan of establishments like the zoo, but I liked it very much.

If I could create an amusement park, I'd create something where everyone would find themselves. For example, there would be a spa here for those who need regeneration. There would be a lot of attractions for children, so that parents could relax. And attractions that would provide a large dose of adrenaline e.g. Hyperion. :))

    ReplyDelete
  21. I didn't visit any places mentioned in this article. But the most I would like to visit Energylandia. I haven't been in such a place for a long time. Last time I was in this kind of park seven years ago. If I have enough money I would create Jurassic Park full of artificial dinosaurs and tropical plants. Of course there are a few jurassic parks in Poland, but they are on low scale. I would like to create large and magnificent place.

  22. Places to visit in Poland

I myself have also not travel that extensively around Poland, but 2 years I tried catch up and I enjoyed it, visiting places like Gdansk and Wroclaw. Some places in our country can be as enjoyable as places abroad.

Definitely Aquapark Santago is very advertised now, although I think they were experiencing severe problems during the epidemic. I do enjoy swimming, so I anticipate great fun, especially on the waterslide. I see many advantages as it’s a good fitness exercise as well and so much fun.

Energylandia I would visit much rather than the Zoo Park. In every Zoo that I visited the animals were just lying around not doing anything, and rollercasters are always a thrilling experience, even though I am little afraid of heights.
