  1. From my point of view, although the promises are big I think that such invention won’t change the way of collaboration. I think that it has great potential but in slightly different areas. For sure it may help in family and friend relations and gathering people remotely. Even organizing remote concerts seems to be possible with this idea and maybe a great solution for actual restrictions. Tools projected for business collaboration are slightly different and I think that they can’t be easily replaced because their position in the business is high especially now. Despite that I keep my fingers crossed and believe that this idea has great potential and can be helpful and entertaining.

  2. In my opinion, the problem of communication through VR or AR has already been tested by Google, with their Google Glass gadget. Unfortunately this specific invention was not very successful. Mostly because of the connection speed, which, at the time, wasn’t efficient enough for it to work properly in every environment. In the case of Microsoft device, discussed in the video, I feel hopeful. Mostly because times have changed since the Google Glass and more and more people can enjoy good internet connection, but also because we seem to be more open to new inventions like this. Being a user of a VR device myself, I can see how this idea of connectivity could help people communicate in a more fun and immersive way.

  3. The first thing that came to my mind is some episodes from the TV series Black Mirror. There, such technologies were presented in a satirical sense. In this video, the technology was introduced in a more entertaining direction. I think that the future belongs to these technologies, the main thing is to use them in the right tension.

  4. In my opinion, this tool can certainly be used in many cases, but whether it will permanently find its place and replace the classic forms of communication and cooperation is still far out of reach. This form of cooperation would certainly be very useful, but now it is expensive and requires a good Internet connection and quite a powerful computer. Privately I am the owner of vr goggles and how they allow to communicate and interact with people from the far corners of the world is amazing. Whether it is during a game or just an ordinary conversation, the fact that I can see someone's "avatar" and body language livens up the conversation and often leads to many interesting situations. In the current reality, where contact with people is limited due to the coronavirus, this form of communication definitely helps in maintaining contact with people.

  5. Connecting and sharing the same virtual experience anywhere shows us a new perspective of life and the changes we are witnessing. This perspective is certainly cool, but it puts the question if we can bear it? As we know, many of us suffer from not being able to meet our loved ones, spend holidays with our families, etc. Even concerts, plays, championships or some public events are no longer the same as they could be with spectators. On the other hand, meetings and panels with clients in the business sphere have a chance of success. The problem arises at the moment are problems connected with internet connection. For sure more than once we have experienced broken connection or internet network failure these days. When such huge engines comes to the new technology it could be the global problem with connection.

  6. I like the idea, but as the lady mentioned at the end of the video, this is nothing new. We've already seen quite a few VR and AR solutions, all of them have similar elements and possibilities. What I don't like the most about Microsoft Mesh are these "avatars", I think they look unsightly and too artificial. If you could actually create an exact mirror of yourself as an avatar for connecting with other people, that would be fantastic and I'd be much more favorable to this project. The element of cooperation is obvious in this case, although personally I wouldn't like to be present in a room similiar to the one shown in the video, filled with square avatars and 8-bit styled furniture. I think that even an ordinary messenger with a camera would be way better for this. Playing with objects with the device seems fine, but I don't see any substantive use of "non-existent" objects that can be summoned into VR to just be there.

  7. As it was mentioned in the video and in the comments above - the presented idea is nothing new. During last few years newer and newer VR devices have been presented, but in my opinion this is very difficult technology that will not change anything in the way of people’s collaboration in the near future. In addition, the presented animations in the video seem too artificial - rather like funny game for children, not meeting with co-workers ;) personally, I wouldn’t enjoy such a meeting. As Jakub mentioned earlier - viedo chats give us more benefits at this moment. By using this form of contact, we are able to see our interlocutor and it is possible to read some of his emotions. It gives us a sense of meeting, certainly more than avatars’ meeting.

  9. In my opinion, this tool could be an intresting idea - in the end it is a nice option to share some experiences together with people no matter where they are. As said before, this concept isn't new for our generation - we already have some VR solutions, not as expanded as Mesh, but still. Of course i can see some added value, especially for education. Using VR for demonstarting some biology or geography content can enhance lessons for kids and increse intrest in science. On the other hand I strongly agree with Jakub - the avatars presented in the video are just horrible. Moreover "mixing" realities can lead to some serious mental health problems. Today there so many people struggling with acceptance, body image issues and isolation. Being in virtual world for many is a copy mechanism, kind of running away from normal life problems. Having a tool which can transfer our perception to virtual reality can just deepen the problem.

  10. I have a strange felling that I saw it before like ten years ago with technologies like Oculus. Personally I think it will not revolutionize how we collaborate. I think it's good example how this technology evolve. Classic video calls are so easy and common that it's hard to imagine to replace it by VR meetings. However I see this technology in specific industries like movies or medical industry. James Cameron is one of the biggest visioners of movie makers I think in this interview he show sus his point of view by his profession. I pretty sure that this innovation will find many ways to improve quality of some products but i wont change how we communicate or spend time in internet

  11. I think this mixed-reality platform is an incredible invention. From the private life perspective, it hugely contributes to the facilitation of maintaining family bonds. We can have the possibility to meet up our long-distance family members and interact with them. Likewise, from the work life perspective, it provides us with many benefits. Primarily, in times like we have today, meaning the whole COVID situation and the fact that more and more people start working remotely, aspects like meetings do not have to lack quality anymore, but can be hold in a completely new form. Such collaboration can be incredibly engaging since people do not have much interaction in a workplace. I'm hoping for this idea to evolve!

  12. In my opinion this kind of solution will affect our collaboration in some way. Especially these days, when we struggle to meet each other on a regular basis. Although I like the idea of Microsoft Mesh, I do not like it's avatars (as someone mentioned before, they are too artificial, they make me feel it all is some kind of a game). Nevertheless, I see a huge potential in this solution, in my opinion it puts cooperation to a higher level, more efficient and more enjoyable level. But in the end I think it will never reach the same level of communication as a real face to face meeting.

  13. First of all im really sorry for me being late with commenting this video, this had been very though week :( Anyway as some of you guys already mentioned above, nothing new had been discovered, we as citizens of 21st century had met VR/AR almost 10 years ago, and personally i hadnt felt that something had strongly changed my world. Hope this time Microsoft, having money, know-how, and all other stuff they will develop this to completly new level which will instantly change our lives. Unforuantely with what they propose now i dont think this will be profitable to any of us, having teams/skype i would say its enough to cooperate with our workmates, families. Adding just avatars which can stand next to each other is not an added value for me. This will not replace an physical meeting. Black mirror had such episode with something similar to this but instead of glasses people had an chip inside their head with lots of usefull utilities. Keeping my fingers crossed that someday i will be able to use such technology, for now nothiing interesting to me.
