  1. Reading the article " Political Interest and Awareness Lower Among Millennials ' implies that the generation of Millenials least interested in politics than older generations X and the Baby Boom . Older generations are looking for information on politics mostly in television and newspapers . Generation Millenials limited to two internet portals " BuzzFeed " and " Google News " Millennials generation is different from the older generations. This generation of people who can’t imagine life without the internet . These are the people who usually they got from their parents
" free” apartment, a car , etc. . I think that this generation less interested in politics than their predecessors , because these are young people , people who do not have problems with money (because parents always help ;)) .

  2. Article provides information about generation of Millenials that are little interested in political issues in contrast to older generation X and Baby Boom which search for latest news in the newspapers and television. Millenials are limited to "BuzzFeed" and "Google News" portals and what is more - these people cannot imagine life iwthout access to the Internet. Millennials are also people who have cars and accommodation from their parents and do not have to worry about political situation having so big support from their parents. Times change and people also.

  3. This article presents a ratio of political awarness among Millennials and two other groups - Baby Boomers and Gen Xers. People which were born in or after 80's are less interested in politics than people which were born before this period. They usally do not follow news sources like USA Today, Wall Street Journal or econimic news provided by entities like Bloomberg. Only 26 percent of the Millennials confirmed that they are interested in government policies and politics.

The Millennials have other things to do than politics. I think the technological progress is causing the low political interests.
For example there are many people who are interested in games and they organise the world's gaming championships which sizes can be comparable to the European Championship. Gen Xers and especially Baby Boomers don't know this type of entertainment. Next example could be fashion lovers - people who have fashion blogs and earn through them.
They are payed by big worldwide designers to post photos of theirs clothes. This subject is also unknown by the previous generations.

In my opinion all the new topics connected with computers and Internet development are far more interesting subjects for younger people than politics and government policies.

  4. After reading the article and the statistics included in it I’m not surprised. Times changes and also changes the ways of getting to the sources of information. While in newspapers, to which older generations are used, there are mostly presented news connected to politics and government, the Internet is full of other topics and politics isn’t one of the sexiest subjects. Millennials who are almost always online are more focused on building society or following people who are considered famous in their group. Their interests are the the result of what’s the hottest topic in the Internet in the particular moment. Politics is just too heavy and require some knowledge and that’s why it doesn’t meet many enthusiasts nowadays.

  5. Just like Patrycja, I am not surprised by the article findings. I think, it is a general trend that more and more life aspects are somehow related to the Internet. Technology has been changing our live for a long time and for me it’s natural consequences that the Internet becomes the main source of information for younger generations. However, I don’t think that it will completely replace TV or newspaper, at least not in the near future. But the said trend is a fact and it’s reflected in the old media. Most of the biggest newspapers have their own webpages or even facebook profiles. Social sites (mostly twitter) are cited even on Polish TV news.

  6. Generational differences have always existed and always will exist. Millenials without modern devices can not function. They are very active in social media, there they can find many interesting things, many informations on various topics.
Nowadays policy is not an interesting subject.Policy discourages because of unfounded bickering and that politicians deal with the affected problems, such as the Smolensk catastrophe or the cross in public spaces. Not only Millenials, but all the people are already tired of this topic. But it does not mean that they do not have their own opinion and that they do not know what is going on.
In the Internet they can not only find informations, but also other people's opinion about some events. And there is excellent place to organize. Millenials did not protest on the streets when the government raised the retirement age, but Millenials went out in the street when the government wanted to introduce ACTA. It was enough only a grim threat: "We will take you the Internet". Millenials organized a protest on the Internet when they felt that the government wants to deny them virtual freedom. I think that the Internet will always be the quickest and best source of informations.

    1. I think that when people gets information only from the Internet it could also cause the bad effects. In the case of large traditional media they take responsibility for their publication. When it turns out that they give false information they need to correct it. On the Internet, many people tells an intentional untruth without any responsibility and unfortunately many people unknowingly transmit them further.

  7. I'm not too surprised that young adults doesn't care about politics. Nowadays politics are very dirty and mendacious. Earlier it was probably too, but now it is terribly evident. In no way it doesn't catches the interest of people who have a choice of the magnitude of other topics, thanks to the Internet. It also explains differences between rate of news sources which about they have heard.

  8. Having read the article it's difficult not to state a few rather sad conclusions
It was not surprising to find out that the political awareness among young adults isway smaller than among older generations and deffinitelly not sufficient. It's enough to take a look on how young people vote. Most of them tend to easily fall for a bait of cheap populism which can be seen in the support they've shown for parties such as KORWIN, or PiS. The studies have also shown that most of the young people who casted their votes for the aforementioned fractions had ealier voted for Ruch Palikota, which believes in a totally different set of values. This just exemplifies how little though millenials put in their political decisions which is simply dangerous to the state's well-being. I do undertand how much of an important role internet sources play in the millenials' lifes (after all they are my main source of information as well), but I think it's important to try to diversify your soureces so you can make up your mind basing on as much information as possible. Not to mention many older publicist who are very worth listening often don't do internet news much.

  9. Totally I am not surprised about findings in this article, because todays political scene in Poland is not attractive for young adults. Two of the biggest political parties are fighting at every possible way, pulling out every small piece of compromising material about others. It makes people feel nausea when they start thinking about politics nowadays in Poland.
