  1. I agree with Albert Einstein :)
You have to work hard to achieve success. Of course you have to have some talent, but I think you should do what you like.
You will not be tired at work and you will be able to work hard.
On the other hand human is lazy by nature.
Thanks for the theory of 10 thousand hours - good to know :)

  2. I believe talent is the person's potential, it determines the maximum one can achieve. But to move even slightly closer to one's maximum, hard work is required and the more you put in, the closer you get to realizing your potential.

  3. I think that talented person have higher chances to achieve success, but it must be covered with hard work. If both this things are connected then this person can be really good in it.
Also without talent we can naturally do some hard work and also be good in something, but it's almost always visible that this person doesn't have the same passion or isn't as happy from doing it as person which is talented and whose doing it from long time. This is a more artificial or just memorized.

  4. We need to ask ourselves, what does "talent" mean? Is it a biological ability to do something better than something else? Or is it just our preferences? White proffesional runner won't be better than e. g. Jamaican man, even if he train all his life. Is it talent? No it's biological predisposition. The same situation we can see in artists, singers or blacksmiths. They fully control their "main instruments", their neural connections works very well. Eventually, even we have got "talent" it will be nothing without hard-working.

  5. As written in the article – comparing talents isn’t easy. Therefore measure of 10.000h for sure cannot be applied to any field. Moreover especially when it comes to some of the cases – you need to have natural predisposition to be good at something. You will have chances near or equal to 0 being 150cm tall and wanting to become a professional basketball player. Even when it comes to music you can possess some physical advantages (like ability to hear wider range of tones) which can help you to reach mastery. Dot :)

It is significantly different when it comes to science. Not running some crazy experiments and discovering new particles (where you need money and luck) but gaining and reusing the knowledge. I truly believe that everybody can become a math of physics master. It just depends on how determined you are and how much time you’re willing to spend on achieving your goal. But start position is the same for everybody. So in this case – talent = time spent on practice.

  6. In my opinion both are important. The reason is simple. Talent is gift, predisposition. It depends only for us what we gonna do with that.
Now is time for hard work. For me success is talent plus hard work. This two things makes the person who you are.

  7. Both are important but lack of one will always make it impossible to achieve something outstanding. Other important thing is to find your talent and learn to use it. I think that for most people this is the hardest part and that way we end up being avarege.

  8. It is a very interesting article. In my opinion everyone has a talent but some people spend a lot of time to find it. It is not easy to do this. For me it is years of hard work and self invests to gain something i.e. became specialist in same area.
For talented people this road can be shorter, but not always. Other people even hard-working may never reach such level. Other thing is that some people can very easy ruin theirs talent in simple way by doing nothing.

  9. Somebody clever said one day that work is 80% and talent 20% of our works. However, if we are talented person- we love our job, so it does not get tired of us. Important thing is our attitude for work, when we are happy and optimism everything will go faster. I think the important factor is also the knowledge with other person with the same sector. They can help us get a better job or modify an existing.

  10. I think talent and hard work is cool and all, but sometimes you have a talent to do something but you do not really like that. So in that case you wont be able to put hard work into it. Some people have multiple talents and it may take some time to discover them so in my opinion persistence, learning new things and exploring should also be added to that list.

  11. I think that the best way is to make a benefit from having a talent and work hard. If we count only on a talent without development, then it's no progress and we'll never get high-level profession.

  12. This question is hard. We need to start with definition of success. For one person it will be something that require only luck and talent. For other it will be something that require years of hard work. Definition of success depends on goals and ambition. If we pick good goals success can be archived without any of them as well.
In my opinion good luck favors better trained. If you hard work, fully belive in goals and you do it all the time then success is only matter of time. Becouse you are on good track, just stay there and do it until others fall off. You need to have option to meet best people. Work with them, tell them your goals. Most of normal people with help you to make your deams come true.
